We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Holt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
I have a very precise and detailed monthly budget that I try to stick to! Of course, emergencies pop up every once in a while, but I try to meet my goals in every category for my budget every single month. Personal finances have always been very important to me. I am very tight with my personal finances, and actually put most of my monthly budget back into acquiring more resources for my agency! It can sometimes be had not to splurge on a new handbag or buy my dream car, but I know that if I continue to work towards growing my business, it will pay off in the future.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have my own digital marketing agency for luxury businesses, Hitch! It feels really rewarding to have my own business, because I can see my work really making an impact for small businesses in terms of their marketing strategies. I think that my dedication to my clients is what sets me apart from anyone else – no matter what time of day or how complicated the request, I will always try to meet the needs of my clients. I am definitely excited about continuing to help and educate more small business owners about how marketing technology can help take their business to the next level. Many business owners are not aware of the different technologies and marketing options out there, so I love being able to inform someone how I program that I am familiar with can help them out. It has definitely not been easy getting to the point that I am at today. As a business owner myself, I have had to wear a lot of hats to ensure that everything operates smoothly. This can get complex, and even draining at times, so it does get difficult! If there is one thing that I want the world to know, it is that you have to take risks to grow sometimes. It can be scary making an investment into a new technology or advertising program, but sometimes, you can strike gold if you can just be willing to make a small initial investment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I feel like I am always out driving around and exploring Atlanta! There are quite a few fun spots here that I know of and frequent. The perfect day out in Atlanta would start with coffee and pastries at Henri’s bakery in Buckhead. From there, we would take a short walk down Path 500 across the highway near Lenox mall, and then make our way down towards Ponce/Virginia Highlands. Next, we would grab lunch at Bell Street Burrito and do some light shopping at the Paris on Ponce and the other antique stores in the area. Finally, we would get ready for dinner at Bar Margot, and consider grabbing a drink at Red Phone Booth downtown before calling it a night!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I had to dedicate my shoutout to any organization, it would be the Savannah College of Art and Design. I know that I would have never gotten to the point that I am out today without my time there. SCAD fostered my creativity, and taught me that most dreams really are attainable if you have the right people around you. I am incredibly grateful for my time there, as well as the connections that I made through SCAD, and would recommend the institution to anyone!
