Hi Kesha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The financial gap and imbalance of household salaries between the wealthy and less fortunate was the motivating factor behind me starting my own business. I learned early on that there was misinformation or a lack of information for people that wanted to break generational curses attributed to their upbringing and/or environment. Real estate has always been a means to build wealth as well as the knowledge of proper credit utilization. Being a Mortgage Broker provides a platform that allows me to educate the masses and reach communities beyond my immediate circle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Watching families become displaced when the housing market crashed provided a lot of insight on what was missing with the home purchase process. There was predatory lending used to get people into homes combined with an eagerness to foreclose and evict. The devastation within communities was vast which led to homelessness and impoverished conditions for children. This also led to the less fortunate being forced out of their neighborhoods with investors gentrifying certain areas. I knew that I wanted to be a part of the solution and that’s how Preferred Mortgage Solutions was birthed.

I have been extremely blessed to have a solid spiritual balance with God. There is peace beyond measures in this space. This was essential when I stepped out on faith to start my brokerage. I’ve also been very fortunate to have a supportive family unit, inclusive of an intelligent and courageous Mother. My spouse and life partner proves daily to love, protect, and mentor. We serve as the foundation for our vivacious and brilliant children. Combining these four elements allots balance. There is an acknowledgement and awareness that my objectives serve a greater purpose.
