We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenya Nycole Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenya Nycole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I truly believe it is important for us to share our God given gifts with the world and bring value to each other. I have always been uniquely creative and have found myself delving into creative spaces and helping others bring their ideas into reality through art and design.

My entrepreneurial journey all started with a meager beginning at the age of 9. In 4th grade, I created my first business where I sold handmade beaded accessories and named my brand “Bead It.” I even had my own business cards that I passed around at lunch to promote the brand. This would be the start that would ignite my entrepreneurial spirit! A decade and some change later, I would open my closet to get ready for my unfulfilling corporate job, and in that moment I would decide to birth my marketing/design business and take the leap as a professional makeup artist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a multi-faceted creative and I operate in a few different areas.

My work includes graphic design, web design and a social media management. My networking and connections have afforded me many opportunities that I am grateful for. I have created graphics for many well-known brands and celebrities including Steve Harvey, Janet Jackson, Usher, Dianna Williams, Musiq Soulchild, Stormy Wellington, That Girl Lay Lay, The Steve & Marjorie Foundation, DD4L, Supreme Fish Delight and more!

I am a professional makeup artist. I have played in makeup since the age of 5. I have been doing makeup professionally for over 8 years. I have been blessed to have my work published in magazines, work on sets, and even travel as the lead makeup artist for the Bring it Live Tour!

I am a beauty influencer and I love creating content on my social media platforms to showcase my creative looks utilizing hair, fashion and makeup. I have worked with brands including Morphe, Colourpop Cosmetics, The Crayon Case, Versed SkinCare and more. I have also starred in several commercials for U.S. Auto Sales as a brand ambassador.

What sets me apart is my intense work ethic. Whenever I am blessed with an opportunity I am going to put 200% into it. I will sacrifice my own needs to make sure I get the job done and I always strive for excellence. I work hard to foster great relationships with all of my clients which allow new opportunities to pour in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I loveee my city. Atl is such an amazing place for people and businesses to thrive and I have been able to explore so many great places in Atlanta.

I would first take my friend to the beltline near Piedmont Park where we would ride our scooters and enjoy the beautiful views. We would ride all the way to Ponce City Market where would would then go up to the rooftop at Ponce and enjoy carnival games, a live DJ, mini golf and more epic views of Atlanta. We would then settle down and go to Houston’s for a delicious meal and put them on to Houston’s famous spinach dip and their savoring Hawaiian Ribeye steak.

The next day I would take my friend to the Avalon in Alpharetta were we would enjoy shopping and walking around the area before grabbing lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. We would sit on their green space while we catch up and chat. Later that evening, I would take them to my favorite fine dining, Michelin Star restaurant, Bacchanalia. We would enjoy an exquisite 4 course meal that would be an unforgettable experience. For some fun, we could then got to Slingshot Adult Arcade which is one of my favorite live spots to play games and listen to music.

Lastly, I would wrap up the weekend by attending my AMAZING church, LIIV Atlanta. We would enjoy worship and a life changing sermon that would feed our soul and lead us to a closer relationship with our Creator. After church, we would head to Toast on Lenox for some scrumptious brunch and Soul Food.

Atlanta has soo many exciting and fun places to offer but here are just a few of the places I that I throughly enjoy!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family is EVERYTHING to me! I could not have gotten this far without their tremendous love and support. Through the tears and trials they have been here every step of the way.

My grandmother has been a great example for me. Over 20 years ago, she obeyed God’s instruction to start the school, Wings of a Dove Christian Prep Academy. Because of her obedience, she has been changing lives for over 20+ years.

My mother is my biggest cheerleader! She supports and counsels me through the challenges of being an entrepreneur and I am forever grateful for her. My younger brother, Isaiah is my best-friend who is also a successful entrepreneur. We can always lean on each other and share words of advice and motivation.

I thank God for my wonderful family, they are truly a blessing in so many ways. I could spend hours and hours sharing all of their contributions they have made in fostering my overall growth.
