We had the good fortune of connecting with Kentrella Shoats and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kentrella, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
During the pandemic my mother tested positive for Covid 19 and lived in a neighboring state from me. I wanted her to feel special and loved so I would deliver a gift box of homemade cookies and soup every weekend. After she recovered, she wanted me to continue delivering cookies. My family began to request them and I thought to myself I may be on to something.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets our cookies apart is our innovative approach to reducing sugar content by 38% while still delivering the decadent flavors of beloved Southern recipes like Red Velvet, Pecan Pie, and Upside-Down Pineapple Cake. Additionally, we offer gluten-free and vegan options that are just as indulgent, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We are more than just a cookie company. We are an experience.

As with life, there are always challenges and you have to learn to pivot. I’m learning that it’s okay to let others help. Also, help doesn’t always come in the form you think it should. Lastly, to quote Zig Ziglar “If you help enough people get what they want you’ll get what you want”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my mother, sister, and brother-in-law. They are the ones to help plant the seed. Shoutout to the leaders and coaches of Spark Thomasville who help cultivate Cookie Trelle. Special shoutout to DeShay Williams, Earl Williams, Doug Shierling and Harry T Jones, who are members of Spark Thomasville and held me accountable. There are so many family members and friends that have wished me well and I can’t thank them enough.
