We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall Hackett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendall, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I became a new business owner, it was difficult for me to avoid spending every moment I was awake fine-tuning my Instagram, editing one more video, or communicating with clients past business hours. Over time, I eased into the season of business I am in now. I still care about my business just as much as I did in its beginning stages, but I have learned to control it instead of let it control me. I now have healthy systems in place to create boundaries with myself and clients that still honor the “workaholic” in me. I know when it’s time to take a break or vacation and I know now that doing so recharges my batteries to allow me to create my best work. You can’t do that when you’re constantly burnt-out.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Kendall Media Co. is an Atlanta-based social media agency that specializes in content creation. What sets us apart is that we handle the creation of your content-not just scheduling posts with cutesy captions. We really get to know our clients as well as their businesses and that allows us to really dig deep into the brand and what messaging will be most effective for converting likes and follows into clients and sales. When we walk through the doors of our clients’ businesses, we let our creativity loose and use our experience and knowledge of current trends to elevate their socials to the fullest extent in a unique and memorable way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Breakfast at Le Bon Nosh for a Parisian-chic vibe
Shopping at Phipps Plaza (specifically to go to House of CB, my favorite clothing store)
High Tea at The St. Regis
Hit the Piedmont Park farmer’s market “Green Market”
A stroll in the Atlanta Botanical Garden
A scent session at Le Lebo in Buckhead
Furniture scouting at RH if they’re in the market for it
A wine and aperitivo stop at Barcelona wine bar
Dinner at Bask Steakhouse (would gatekeep, but it’s just too good)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Franchesca O’Connell, owner of Cosa Salon in Alpharetta. Franchesca has faced difficulties in business with a solution and positive attitude every single time and I will forever respect her for what she has taught me.
