Meet Kelvin Carter | Actor & Corporate Trainer in Insurance

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelvin Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelvin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most crucial factor behind my success and the success of my brand lies in my unwavering work ethic. I believe in going above and beyond, whether it’s building a set, acting in a scene, showing up early, or being one of the last to leave. This commitment to excellence sets me apart and has garnered recognition for my professionalism and dedication in the industry.
Consistent learning and growth also play a pivotal role. I understand the importance of continuously improving my craft, and this commitment has allowed me to navigate challenges and seize opportunities along the way. Whether it’s taking advantage of free acting classes, networking, or exploring new projects, the hunger for learning has been a driving force.
Furthermore, my passion for storytelling, not just as a performer but as someone who wants to honor the stories behind the scripts, adds depth to my approach to acting. This authenticity resonates with audiences and collaborators, contributing to the success of my brand.
In summary, a strong work ethic, a commitment to continuous learning, and a genuine passion for storytelling have been the cornerstones of my success and the success of my brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Certainly, let me delve into the details of my art, professional journey, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way:
What Sets Me Apart:
What distinguishes me in the world of acting is my unwavering work ethic. I am known for going the extra mile—whether it’s co-producing and directing projects like “The Cast,” showing up early, or being one of the last to leave a set. This dedication and commitment to excellence set me apart from others in the industry.
I take pride in my professionalism, acting skills, and multifaceted involvement. I don’t just see myself as an actor but as someone deeply passionate about storytelling, aiming to humanize characters and honor the stories behind the scripts. This genuine approach adds authenticity to my work.
Professional Journey:
My journey has been a combination of challenges, opportunities, and continuous learning. Starting in a small town with limited resources, I faced financial constraints and lacked access to acting classes. Moving to Savannah in 2008 opened doors to TV extras opportunities, reigniting my passion. Networking, free acting classes, and stand-in work at Tyler Perry’s studio further shaped my understanding of the industry.
Moving to Atlanta marked a shift in focus due to the demands of life. However, collaborations with Miracle Sims on projects like “The Oldies” and involvement in a stage play in North Carolina highlighted my versatility. Challenges such as the impact of COVID-19 pushed me to focus on what I could control—earning two associate degrees and participating in online acting classes.
In 2023, I continued my education at The Alliance Theater, joined a podcast series by LucyLu Films, and co-produced “The Cast.” These experiences, coupled with running Chapter’s LLC, have contributed to my growth as an artist and entrepreneur.
Challenges and Lessons:
The journey hasn’t been easy. Balancing personal goals, work, and acting posed significant challenges. Finding a balance was crucial, and while it felt like I lost time and opportunities, every challenge became a valuable lesson. I’ve learned the importance of making choices aligned with my goals, finding a balance, and staying focused on the journey.
What I Want the World to Know:
I want the world to know that my journey isn’t conventional. It’s a testament to the fact that everyone’s path is unique, and comparisons are futile. My brand stands for authenticity, dedication, and a passion for storytelling that goes beyond the surface. I am not just an actor; I am someone who believes in the power of stories to connect and inspire.
My work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning define me. Whether I’m acting, directing, producing, or helping entrepreneurs through Chapter’s LLC, my goal is to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I am ready to embrace future opportunities with gratitude and an eagerness to contribute to the world of storytelling.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week-long trip in Atlanta, I’d ensure my best friend experiences the vibrant culture and exciting places the city has to offer. We’d start with delicious meals at iconic spots like Bleu Seafood House and other Atlanta food locations. Exploring the High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Botanical Garden would be a must for a dose of creativity and nature.
Evenings would be spent in the lively neighborhoods of Little Five Points and Buckhead, enjoying the local music scene. To get a taste of Atlanta’s history, we’d visit the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. And of course, we can’t miss catching a performance at The Alliance Theater to witness the thriving arts scene in the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely, I would like to extend my heartfelt shoutout to several individuals, groups, and opportunities that have played pivotal roles in shaping my journey:
Miracle Sims: My collaborator and friend on projects like “The Oldies” and “The Cast.” Miracle has been a source of inspiration and a creative partner. Our joint efforts have not only led to successful projects but also provided me with invaluable experiences in the world of acting and production.
Dee James (MPactt Production): The playwright and director who trusted me with a leading role in a stage play in North Carolina. Dee’s belief in my abilities allowed me to showcase my skills on stage, leading to a sold-out show and a significant milestone in my acting career.
Respect For Acting Academy by Jossie Harris of LA: The opportunity to attend free acting sessions through this academy was a game-changer. The skills and insights gained from these sessions have contributed significantly to my growth as an actor.
The Alliance Theater: The institution where I currently take acting classes to continue refining my craft. The Alliance Theater has provided a supportive environment for learning and honing my skills, contributing to my professional development.
LucyLu Films: The podcast series “Story Chronicles” by LucyLu Films, where I was cast by another local artist. Being part of this project has allowed me to showcase my talents in different mediums, expanding my range within the industry.
Chapter’s LLC: My small business where I help entrepreneurs/everyday people on their journey to becoming business owners or taking the next step in life. This venture is an extension of my passion for helping people, and it adds a meaningful dimension to my overall story.
God and Opportunities: Gratitude to the higher power for opening doors and presenting opportunities along the way. I am thankful for the people who listened and supported me, contributing to the various experiences that have shaped my journey.
Each of these entities has played a vital role in my success, and I owe a debt of gratitude to them for their efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement.
