We had the good fortune of connecting with Keith Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keith, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Compton, California. I was raised by my single mother; along with my two brothers.

My mother raised me on the importance of family values. I believe those ideas and assisted with my focus

on doing my best; so that I would always be in a position to properly care for my family while achieving my dreams.

My father taught me to have pride in anything and everything I do. Also, think about what you want to say-BEFORE you say it.

Besides your appearance, your speech is the next extension to reach your immediate public.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Keyz Investments provides housing for military families in transition (inbound/outbound) of their current, local military base.

We differ slightly from other organizations, because we cater strictly to military families. Military families have to worry about
comings and goings, either local, domestic, or foreign destination. The last thing to worry about is where you’re going to sleep or the conditions of the property.

I am most proud that I am working on something I dreamed of and am seeing it to fruition.

I am excited about being a positive example for my children and this dream will allow me to spend quality time with my wife, children, and grandchildren.

Being successful was not easy. First of all, the vision you have is what God gave to you, for you. Therefore no one can see your vision in the way that you do. Success is not easy because you have to truly work at something in order to become proficient enough to get on the right track to succeeding in that craft.

I learned that if you want something, you have to -somewhat- develop tunnel vision and pursue your dream. There will always be distractions. You have to form a self-discipline which forces you to block out the distractions. No one is going to do the work for you.

I learned that you have to truly believe in yourself, your dream, and that whatever your intentions are in achieving your goal.

I want my story and brand to let those whom dream of something greater know that if you keep putting the steps in front of one another, and by the time to you realize it, you will have exceeded your original goal, and setting a new standard for yourself.

Also, if you do one thing, help someone up. Pay it forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, first of all we stay in Spanaway, WA. This a growing community. Most think of it as being in the country. We would take them to Seattle; the city. This is where it’s extremely exciting.

Seattle has a vast assortment of art, food, entertainment, etc.

Day 1: Venture through Seattle
– Pikes Peak Market
1. Pike Place Fish-they toss fish.
2. Pike Chowder
3. Beecher Handmade Cheese

Elliott Bay Waterfront
1. The Seattle Aquarium
2. Ballard Locks cruise
3. The Seattle Great Wheel
4. enjoy Ivar’s local seafood
5. enjoy a game over the Seahawks, Sounders, Kraken, or the Storm

Day 2: Queen Anne & Capitol Hill Neighborhoods
-these are a couple of scenic and beautiful neighbors in Seattle

1. The Space Needle
2. Kerry’s park (tiny park seen on Frasier).
3. Dinner at Terra Plata or Manmoon or Queen Anne’s Toulouse Petit.

Day 3: Neighborhoods North of Downtown – Green Lake, Fremont, Woodland Park, and Ballard
5 miles North of downtown
(sort of an escape from the city life)

-Woodland Park has a zoo
-Green Lake is one of Seattle’s most loved parks
– Ballard is a waterfront neighborhood that hosts restaurants, bars, and craft breweries.

Have a simple lunch while seeing the boats venture through Ballard Locks.
Also, enjoy the botanical garden.
End the day with some shopping and eating on the historic Ballard avenue.

Also, Snag a snack at Theo Chocolate!

Woodinville village is a must see!

Day 4: Pioneer Square & Ferry to Bainbridge Island

Pioneer square:

Travel through time to the Gold Rush and enjoy the Beneath the Streets Tour.

Then absorb the pictorial window shopping through Pioneer Square.

Bainbridge Island

Next, take a ferry to Bainbridge Island

Day 5: Southwest Seattle

1. The Museum of Flight
2. Kubota Garden
3. Alkai beach
-rent bicycles
-swim in the Puget Sound

check out some local food choices like Salty’s on Alki, Marination Mai Kai, Duke’s Seafood, and Alki Spud Fish & Chips.

This may seem like a lot (and it is!) But all your senses will be overwhelmed and you may fall in the NorthWest!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my wife-Dr. Josephine Harris. Since the day we met, she has been my light, my air. I was on the verge of being “lost” in life. She inspired me to love, smile, be a better man. I would not be who I am, and where I am without here today.

Other: I am currently rebuilding my website. Everything will hopefully be available by the time we follow up on this information. Thank you for your understanding.

Nominate Someone: ShoutoutAtlanta is built on recommendations and shoutouts from the community; it’s how we uncover hidden gems, so if you or someone you know deserves recognition please let us know here.
