We had the good fortune of connecting with Keith and Amanda Kraft and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keith and Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
K&A Theatricals is a Broadway Performing Arts Company run by my husband Keith Kraft and myself. I earned my degree in Musical Theater, and then tought and directed musical theater for other companies for a decade.  I soon realized that I had all the knowledge training experience and know how to do it for myself. When I met my husband Keith, who has his masters of musical theater from the American Music and Dramatic academy in Los Angeles and New York, I knew I had found somebody who I could build a company together with. So I pulled from all my experience with other companies learning what works and what doesn’t work. Using our own experiences to guide us to a future together, we created K& A Theatricals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
K&A Theatricals is a Broadway Performing Arts Company born in Hollywood and home in Georgia. As artistic directors, we take all of our experience over the last decade as a company and our resume as professional musical theater actors to provide our students with a one of a kind training. Every student has a chance to shine with us and continue their personal journey on and off the stage.
This journey has not been easy and has required a tremendous amount of perseverance and faith. One of our biggest challenges was the pandemic. With no option for live theater and lessons, we transitioned to virtual training and performances. This new medium extended our clientele and we had a global out reach. Our company grew by 300% over the pandemic with our Show Must Go Online Series. After live theater returned, we returned to the stage. Our first performance back was at Walt Disney World. Every day is a new adventure as artistic directors as we navigate new clients, new theaters, and new performance and training opportunities for K&A Theatricals.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a family we like to go hiking and to the zoo.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Over the last 10 years, K&A Theatricals has been blessed with support from parents and theaters all over the country. The Attic Theater in Los Angeles, The Historical Ashland Theater in Alabama, The Disney Imagination Campus Staff, The Bridge Church, and Bethel Methodist Church have all supported our mission.
