Hi Keisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea behind starting my business is rooted in a simple question: why settle for mediocre when you can create something exceptional? For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about hosting events. Yet, it was a particular Valentine’s Day outing with my husband that sparked the realization. The event we attended was lackluster, to say the least. It wasn’t outright terrible, but it certainly didn’t live up to its price tag. It felt more like a money-making scheme rather than a genuine attempt to entertain and delight guests.

As we walked away from that experience, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I could do better. “I can host a better Valentine’s event than this,” I told my husband. And so, the seed was planted.

With Great Vibes Events LLC., my vision is clear: to redefine what it means to attend an event. I want our company to be synonymous with unforgettable experiences and positive energy. No guest should ever leave one of our events questioning the value of their ticket. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an interactive hands-on type person.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to give honor to God. Nothing in my life would be possible without His guidance and blessings.

Next, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my husband, Sylvester. He has been my rock through every up and down, providing unwavering support and comfort during the most challenging times.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my wonderful mother, Claudia. Her constant encouragement and belief in my abilities have been a source of strength and motivation. She has stood by me through thick and thin, offering her unwavering support in everything I do.

I must also acknowledge the invaluable support and inspiration provided by Chyna Marie. She is always dropping gems! Her words of encouragement and wisdom have been instrumental in my journey. From envisioning my event company to seeing her as the host of my first mixology event, her support has meant the world to me. I am truly grateful for her guidance and advice in navigating the business world.

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Tangela. She has been an invaluable support throughout the entire planning and execution process of my events. From the initial stages of planning to the final execution, Tangela has been their every step of the way. On the day of the events, she is always present and ready to work tirelessly. As my event decorator, she brings creativity and expertise to every project, ensuring that each event is a success. Not only is she skilled at what she does, but she also provides words of encouragement and invaluable advice, making her an essential part of my journey.
