We had the good fortune of connecting with Keairra Tippins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keairra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was “financial freedom” and being able to be on my own schedule. However, the “own schedule” thing isn’t going too great being a business owner lol

What should our readers know about your business?
The name of my business is Royal Tips by Tip. However, when the nail salon was purchased we chose to do business as Lucky nails of Johns Creek, Georgia. We are a full service nail salon. Black owned and operated. We take pride in the quality of our work and according to our customers, the customer service is top tier. We love to cater to our customer’s needs. We have some of the BEST pedicure packages and are known for the GREAT pedicures.

I started out doing nails at my house and eventually, worked at a Nail salon in Conyers, Ga. At that point, I started to get off of work way too late so, I had to go back to the Corporate World. I stayed there for a few months but, deep down I knew what my passion was. And sitting down at a desk wasn’t it! I found my current salon for sale and took a leap on faith. I quit my job and went full force with the nail salon.
I wouldn’t say it was easy at all. I honestly just prayed every time I was faced with an obstacle and just knew that I didn’t get this far if this really wasn’t for me. So, I pushed harder and harder every time!

I want the world to know that our main goal is to make you feel even more BEAUTIFUL!! And you will only receive Royal treatment here at Lucky Nails-Johns Creek

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well first, anyone that knows me, knows I’m a home body! I like to watch good movies, preferably love stories and action movies. Once we’re done lounging around we’re going to go for some seafood. I can eat seafood everyday! My absolute favorite seafood spot is Spondivits in Atlanta. They have some of the best seafood, Margaritas and Bob Marleys.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! I want to give a shout-out to my Nail instructor, Mrs. Shawntay, the owner of School of Creative Nails. She taught me a lot and definitely gave good insight on the nail industry. She pushes all her students to be great and still is supportive til this day. I also want to shout out the lovely nail technicians of Lucky Nails. I can’t thank them enough for their hard work, dedication, talent and support!
