We had the good fortune of connecting with KcByNature and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KcByNature, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are a sense of motivation. When it comes down to my character and my career, I believe that risks are what make me want to strive more, they are what pushes me to go above and beyond. If you’re not taking risks, you aren’t elevating, because those are the obstacles that make you stronger. Focusing on my career, I travel. I’m in the AirForce so I take risks weekly, also with the content I create on YouTube. From mountain climbing, to walking on frozen lakes, hiking, exploring ancient caves, you name it! My entire business is a risks. I explore the worlds greatest beauties by myself, all while being an African American woman, one of the GREATEST risks of all. If I didn’t take any risks, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. People tend to limit themselves when they face a decision making problem, not me, I go beyond what my eyes can see. Being away from my family is definitely a top tier that concerns me but yet pushes me, that includes my military life and my traveling endeavors. The overall competition I face daily in the YouTube industry is a risk. I sometimes get discouraged, or want to give up because I lack the motivation to continue this obstacle of ‘climbing to the top’ of that field. However I feed off of fear, risks and obstacles, so I won’t stop until my name holds power, until my name is THE name, KcByNature.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe in living to my fullest, living to execute my dreams. I don’t just dream, I make my visions reality. A lot of people may want to do something, start a business and never act on it. They just DREAM, or speak on it. Me contrastingly, I WILL do everything I say I will do. I’ve accomplished so much thus far, and I have no plans on stopping. Not to sound cliche, but literally taking risks is how I got to where I am today. I never give up no matter how discouraged I may get at times, I’ve been at my lowest, now I’m rising in my eyes. I kept going even when there was NO light at the end of my tunnel. Many people give up when there appears to be no way out, but I never have. I’m only 30 and have accomplished more than 90% of my family, it definitely wasn’t easy, but that’s what I love. My mindset also sets me afar from other people, I strive for greatness, I KNOW I will be great, so I act accordingly, nothing more and nothing less. I’ve definitely had a lot of challenges and I know there are more to come, but to overcome them I’ve honestly just faced them, that’s the best method. No matter how overwhelming situations get, just deal with it, it’ll be over soon. I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way, main one being that you can’t help everyone. Not everyone has the mindset, ambition or strive as you, you have to play your part and continue to prosper for yourself or they will weigh you DOWN. Another lesson being to never lose faith, and to never give up because it only gets better from where you began. Even a little bit of progress, is still progress. I want everyone to know that you can do what you say you can do, it’s all up to YOU! Never let others intimidate you with their negativity, or notoriety, you have the power to write your future. I travel the world exploring and trying things that (African Americans) don’t typically do, and I record everything, my YouTube channel encourages living life to the fullest, my life motto.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being from Atlanta, one of my favorite places to go is SixFlags, I’m all about life and roller coasters give me that “thrill!”
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give special recognition to my friends, my support group who’ve always believed that I’ll be more than your average person.
