We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Strickland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, how do you define success?
The definition of success is not how much money one has acquired, even though money is a big role in displaying our success. Success is to overcome, to get better and better at becoming you. Knowing your craft, Becoming the product. The greatest part of success is when you can have a vision in your mind and It comes to your hands and you’re able to extend it to the customer. I’ve learned this through observation and learning to be more self aware of my short coming. Others may take my mistakes failures, but I’ve learned to look at them as builders. I like to think of it as we are given an invisible glass in business. Every drop of personal success and failure goes into the glass, we need an equal balance of both in order to fill our cups up, and then we can overflow. This is when our brand becomes us and we our brand. At this point companies will seek one out for homed skills in business. SUCCESS!

How did I get here? Hard work, Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Prayer

Was it easy?
No, building a business is never easy. Overcoming yourself is the hardest part, taking the limits of you thinking is the first part. Secondly you have learn the business, what’s the demand and create an a solid foundation. Third you have to know how to build with a set blueprint, things and obstacles arise that break down walls that you’ve worked so hard to build, one must learn to keep building on the foundation but restructure some lines.

Lessons/ Set Apart/ Challenges

• Be You, know you’re visions and bring it to the people the way you see it.

• Don’t chase money. Money will come if you’re consistent in being the vision and building on it. You’ll get invitation from those you admire the most.

• Pick a major in business.
What do you specialize?
Ava’s Apples is speciality dehydration company, we major in product invention, we minor in crafting original tea and spice blends. We have our own inventions, that’s what sets us apart for the rest. Products like banana jerky and tomato jerky put us in a bracket of our own. We keep investing in our major, expanding the flavors and refining the process and techniques. If offered a large contract it should be in our major, a demand for our inventions, techniques, and products.

I tell people all the time you can’t graduate with a lot of minors, your business must major in something.

• The greatest challenge in business has been financially supporting the vision. And continuing on during COVID 19 and
inflation. But we chose to persevere , I believe the greatest doors open after the struggle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big shout out to my God, the maker of me, The crafter of my mind and how I think. The true inventor of my products, and leader of my business decisions. As many people know Ava’s Apples was built from fasting and prayer about purpose for my life. An audible voice spoke Ava’s Apples to me, In a vision God showed me these products. Apples packaged a certain style, flavors, and designs. I’m more than grateful for his love that choose me to be the builder of his vision, now my vision Ava’s Apples.

Another big shout out to my to my niece Jada and my sister Erica for supporting my business ministry. They help in writing and reading over business things. I’m greatful for them.

And a huge shout out to my customers, they push me to become better and better. Tasting my inventions listening to my ideas, and purchasing my dreams. I so very great for their encouragement and support.
