We had the good fortune of connecting with Katrina Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katrina, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is “Don’t take anything personally.” In life and business you need others to come along and prod you. It provides you a chance to become stronger, I see nothing as personal and I choose to take it as a challenge. Building your own brand can become stressful at times but with a positive outlook you will be able to handle any obstacle that presents itself. My affirmation that I say daily to ensure this mindset is “Love life. Engage in it. Give it all you’ve got. Love it with a passion because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it.”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
2021eats is the total food experience that features food from the many places I travel along with restaurants in Atlanta. I like to highlight restaurants that people haven’t really heard of, local gems, black-owned businesses and fine dining experiences. 2021eats also provides restaurant recommendations, plans brunches and showcases local chefs in the community. Food is a universal language and I’m so proud that I have the opportunity to bring people together to share a common interest.
Nothing worth having ever comes easy. I found that along the way life throws you curve balls and it’s up to you to decide how you are going to move forward. I try my best to have a positive attitude in life. Figuring out which brands to partner with, how to market yourself and finding a balance between your work life and your true passion can be difficult. I’ve taken photography and marketing classes to improve my brand. You have to take that extra step, you cannot make excuses. I’ve learned that the everyday struggles make a beautiful story in the end.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh Wow! So if my best friend were visiting, I would definitely take them to the Bamboo Forest and the Beltline. While we’re at the Beltline we would have to stop by Estrella for food, drinks and a great rooftop experience. If we’re being more health conscious I would probably stop by Playa Bowl and grab some açaí bowls. I would love to show my best friend some of the exhibits at the High Museum or end up at the Selfie Museum for content photos. We would also have to go to The Battery Atlanta, it is such a nice area with lots of restaurants, shops and bowling. Did I forget to mention Yo! Chef ?!! Listen Yo! Chef is so good we would definitely end up dining there more than once. For the finale I would take my best friend to Osha Thai Sushi Galleria, the service, presentation, food and drinks are top tier!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my parents, they have provided me with such a solid foundation. They are always super supportive and encouraging, I’m thankful they have created a safe space for me to be free and vulnerable. Your childhood plays a major part in your adult life, so I’ll always be very grateful that my upbringing turned me into the woman I am today.
