We had the good fortune of connecting with Dupree Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dupree, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly I think the artistic path chose me! Ever since I was a kid I had expansive creative imagination and would always be sketching and drawing new worlds and different characters that popped in my head, and now that I’ve stepped into the acting/writer/producer world I want to portray that creativity through television and film!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up was a bit tough but in the back of my mind I always knew that once I figured out what I wanted to do with my life and I was able to take control of it then I would change it for the better and strive for greatness by any means necessary. I’m simply a vessel put here to portray and create amazing stories for people to enjoy, relate and escape from their every day lives with through tv/film. I want to create different stories from different people that the masses can gravitate towards. My passion to do this exceeds all and is my driving force. I want to ignite a spark in people with my story that will cause them to go out in the world and do amazing things against all odds! My job is to leave this world somewhat better than it was when I came into it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in midtown and in my opinion it’s one of the best places to be in Atlanta! It has so much to offer. We have the beautiful botanical garden which is right next to the gorgeous huge Piedmont Park which connects to the fun filled Beltline. There’s also a handful of cool fun places to grab food and drinks at like The Consulate, Rock Steady and Bar Vegan in PCM. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God first and foremost! My younger brother Braden Huff and my older brother Chauncey Huff have always been a source of motivation and encouragement. We weren’t dealt the greatest hand in this game called life like most, but to watch my brothers be able to fight through adversities and still be able to pursue their dreams and create major opportunities for themselves has always been an inspiration! Also the rest of my siblings Stephanie Doss, William Griffin and John Smith who helped raise me and have always been great role models for me to look up to for guidance and for that I am forever grateful. And my close friends and family that support my dream and believe in my vision.
