Meet Kashmere Destouet | Health & Fitness Enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kashmere Destouet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kashmere, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve never felt good enough for anything in my life. All my life I have had the same goal, to be smaller. I have always based my self value on my weight. It wouldn’t matter if I was a presidential scholar, a Nobel peace price winner, a billionaire, etc. It still wouldn’t be of much value, in my eyes. Superficial to some but a very real issue for me. I hated what I was because I knew what I could be.
I wanted nothing more than to free myself from the insecurities that I created and nurtured over the years. So I worked at it, I faced my truths and found a means to my end. I took control of my happiness, planned thoroughly, eliminated my insecurities, pushed harder and worked towards my goals.
I worked out daily by jumping rope, created healthy meals, meal prepped and wrote about daily in my journal to keep myself accountable.
I found happiness with in myself for the first time in my life. I did what I never imagined I could be capable of doing, losing and keeping off the most weight in my life, and all I needed was a Pinch Of Consistency.
I figured if I could change my own world so drastically, I owed it to others ,that had my same struggles, to provide them with something to help change their perspectives of themselves!
With that I came up with A Pinch Of Consistency.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets A Pinch of Consistency apart from other health/fitness businesses is the concept behind it. A Pinch of Consistency embodies growth. I put a caterpillar keychain, a cocoon, and an iron on butterfly in every order that I ship. The reason I do this is to remind everyone that they are on a journey. This isn’t something that will happen over night, although I can help you achieve your goals at a faster pace. Each and everyone is on a journey and I am beside them while they embark on their journeys. I provide on going mentorships to everyone of my customers. If they need 1 on 1, more motivation, meal plan adjustments, workout adjustments, etc. they can reach out to me. I provide a line of communication with everyone because its more than just sales to me. I see myself in each and everyone of my customers and I will always stick beside them.
I am most proud about the people who lives I get to touch and motivate. Watching my program work for others and not just myself brings me so much happiness. I truly know how hard it is to not like the skin you’re in, so if I can help someone appreciate themselves more, I’m delighted to!
I got where I am in business today by not giving up, I tried, failed, cried and had many sleepless nights for over a decade before it finally clicked and something worked. Even now, as I continue to grow my business, I have failures and hiccups but I just look back at how far I’ve come and I keep pushing. If you never fail you will never have anything to learn and grow from. Once you realize failure is part of your growth, you will be more willing to take risk. Where there is no risk, there is no reward.
If everything always worked for you, you wouldn’t find alternative routes for success. If your first marketing flyer got you 1,000 sales you would never feel the need to research different ways of marketing or more effective approaches to the content that you create. It takes failure to grow. Without failure there would be so much more to the world that we wouldn’t know.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I myself am fairly new to the city, I’ve lived in Atlanta for approximately 5 months, so when my friends come to the city to visit I give them what I call the “newbie city tour”.
For breakfast it is an absolute must that you go to Toast on Lenox, The Breakfast Club, or The Milk and Honey.
For lunch/Dinner I would take them to Old lady Gang, The Juicy Crab, Blaq Haus, Apt 4B, Sistahritas, Sea Salt Seafood, or Roc South Cuisine.
For Fun we would visit, The Hide hookah lounge, Copper cove, High museum of art, get massages in Cochran Mills Park Waterfall, Silver Spot Cinema, or Top Golf.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It would be an absolute honor to give a shout out to my mother, Crystal Destouet. My mom was a single mother at 14 years old as well as a product of the foster care system. Although it had to be the hardest journey anyone could endure, she didn’t succumb to her predicament. I never missed a meal, and I always had all that I could ever want or need. My mom showed me that nothing in this world was off limits, in fact it was all tangible! All you have to do is work for it, you have to work for it everyday, every second of the day. You have to work for it until you feel like it’s not work, until it is apart of you. That is how you will succeed. That is what my mother taught me and I owe all my success to her.
