We had the good fortune of connecting with Kas Milfort and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kas, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There really wasn’t a thought process behind CULTRWRLD. Honestly, I started CULTRWRLD as a platform for independent artists to showcase their music, videos and other things that would expose them to the world. One day, I just decided to purchase equipment to customize items and I slowly started to my own clothing line in the process. Currently, I still customize items for clients such as shirts, cups, car decals and other items. CULTRWRLD, the clothing line is doing pretty well, My introduction of my 2020 Fall/Winter wear was taken in very well. I feel really good about this decision about starting CULTRWRLD and i am determined to give it my all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to my art, its more created in space to make consumers happy. My inspiration behind CULTRWRLD was mainly the early 90’s Dopeboy look. I often use SEAN JOHN as an inspiration as well. It was Hip-Hop but it wasn’t overly rough and street….it was real clean cut and fly. Camron’s character in “Paid in Full” was a drug dealer but he was also, fashion-wise… he was nice with it. Very well put together and when he walked in a room, you just knew he had a few dollars. That’s the lane I’m trying to go with my line, I want my consumer to put the clothing on and feel like money. This is why I also made sure quality was a big deal for me. You can be street but still have a look of quality and confidence as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question for me is a bit deep, I am currently living back home in South Florida but I spent 14 years in Atlanta. Being back home is like a new place for me, everything has changed but I have an idea of what’s fun now. But I would definitely take them to the “Museum of Illusions” in Miami and maybe a quick bit to eat at ” Drunken Taco” on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. We’d HAVE to dedicate a day to the beach or a day to fishing in the Marina. “Yot” would be one of our stops, this is a super dope brunch spot on the water. I’d also have to take them by my mother’s house for some authentic Haitian food, being Haitian is something I take pride in. Before the leave South Florida, I would have to take them to G5, that is my favorite strip club…. Magic City, who?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a handful of people I would love to dedicate this shoutout to but primary, my main source of support is my family. I get all the support that propels me forward from my wife, my sister, my mother, my father, my aunt and my mother – in- law. This group of people are the reason why I did not give up when it got extremely hard or blurry. In the beginning stages of my business, things got really foggy and blurry but my family constantly told me not to give up. From my wife helping me with design ideas, my mother in law promoting my business to my mother and father upgrading helping me upgrade my equipment. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to help me in the support department.
