We had the good fortune of connecting with Karl and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karl, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was shopping weekly at H&M and Nordstrom back in College and I just randomly google searched “How to make a t-shirt”. Brands such as Obey, The Hundreds and Diamond Supply were my go to for the pieces I was interested in at the time (2011). I just really wanted to see if I could do what they were doing in a time where information wasn’t so vast on the industry.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 2021 I started a Brand called “Preyfourlove” which is a play on words to describe the work required to attain anything you desire in this life. We incorporate a lot of Energy into our pieces and never shy away from bold statements that refer to The Most High and positive affirmations through our designs. It’s never easy building something from scratch but in this internet age we have been able to really cultivate a core audience that really enjoys our pieces. Our goal is to have the World PREYING with us! P R E Y is the WORK required to achieve anything in this life!

 

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Maryland so the DMV has so much to see as a visitor. I personally enjoy nice restaurants so I would recommend a few of my go to spots like 1799 Prime, Huncho House or Graces Mandarin. I’m not a nightlife person so I would have to introduce them to a few friends that could guide them in that direction lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I always shoutout GOD 1st and foremost. Without that spiritual guidance all other parts of my life and journey would be chaotic. I also have to add my Wife into the fold for the support system she provides with every idea I’ve ever had. And lastly my creative director Moe has been pivotal in the growth and direction of Preyfourlove.
