Meet Kareem Nyké | Creative & Aspiring Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kareem Nyké and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kareem, how do you define success?
I would define success as accomplishing goals that you set for yourself. Everyone’s success is different. As long as you’re breaking down barriers in your eyes, or achieving goals that you set for yourself; that’s considered success in my eyes.
 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited about this new project that I’m working on. As I am still learning and trying to figure things out musically, I am super excited to be recording these songs that I’ve been writing for a minute now. It all started as a little joke with my friends, but now I’m actually taking it serious and I’m loving the outcome. It was easy at first because it started off as just something to say I did it, but now I’m serious about perfecting everything that I’ve been recording. The lessons that I’ve learned is to definitely go to the studio with a clear mind and no distractions. I want the world to know to be on the look out for a surprise from me that we never knew was coming.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop is definitely Terranga City for happy hour. I love that place. Great drinks, awesome vibe, good food, and nice music. Then, Zari for night time fun. I literally wrote my name on the ceiling in there. I love that place. I’ve been there a million and 1 times. Fin & Feathers (Edgewood’s new location) for a good hookah vibe. And for an upscale friend’s date, we’re definitely going to my new favorite spot Jojo’s beloved for cocktails. Then to MCK restaurant & bar for dinner. All great places!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my biggest supporters: My parents, my close friends, my brother and my cousin for encouraging me to keep going. Whatever I put my mind to, they’re always there to support me and uplift me to go hard! They have really been such a big help with pushing me to go further with all of my goals. Sending a special shout out to my mom and dad, my closest friends Drica, Timme and Tache for all of the motivation as I tackle this new aspiration.
