Hi Kameron, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
It took many years for me to realize that risk-taking is an integral part of achieving success. Taking calculated risks can lead to new opportunities and growth in various aspects of life, including career, finances, and personal development. By stepping outside of one’s comfort zone and embracing change, individuals can challenge themselves to think creatively and find innovative solutions to problems. Taking risks also causes individuals to learn and grow, as they are forced to confront and overcome new challenges.

I found that at the beginning of my journey, I was often hesitant to take risks due to a variety of reasons, including fear of failure, peer pressure, and a lack of confidence. I believe that society also places a strong emphasis on achievement and success, which can create pressure for teens to make safe and predictable choices. Especially now that social media and the internet are widely used, they can amplify these fears by showcasing the perceived successes and failures of others, leading to a heightened sense of comparison and competition. Fortunately, I have been blessed to be surrounded by many who love and support me through all of my endeavors. My father has always been there to push and support me through whatever it was that I aspired to do and has encouraged me to incorporate risks and lessons into everything that I do. He taught me that those who are successful in taking risks are often willing to learn from their mistakes and use them to inform their future decision-making.

With the support of my father and my good friend Chase Campbell, I was able to take this leap of faith and start KOSTAR in April 2022 during my sophomore year of high school. I wanted to use my artistic ability and love for fashion to inspire others to pursue their dreams. I want my audience to have the confidence to take that risk, shoot for the stars, and not let the world dim their shine. In under 6 months, I was able to grow over 1000 followers on Instagram. I have also been able to reach and spread my message to many across Atlanta and over 10,000 customers across the US. I am extremely blessed and grateful for the progress that I have made in under a year and I am eager to watch the future of KOSTAR unfold.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kostar provides original design and branded fashion apparel for all. Kostar allows the customer to stand out in their way. We are all stars and we are all special meaning we can all shine in multiple ways. Kostar is more than a brand, it is a lifestyle that constantly inspires others to shine and strive for success. Confidence was a critical aspect of growing my brand. It enabled me to make tough decisions, take calculated risks, and overcome challenges. It effectively helped me communicate my vision and build relationships with others. It has helped me maintain my motivation and persevere through setbacks and challenges, which has enabled me to achieve my goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
– I would visit Stone Mountain for a workout, and spending time in nature is nice.

– We could go to the beltline, I always enjoy riding bikes.

– Ponce City Market is also very cool to visit if you haven’t been.
– We could go shopping at Lenox Mall
– The Georgia Aquarium is also really cool if you have not been before.
– Watch a Hawks game at State Farm Arena
– The Illuminarium is a very unique experience aswell.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My successes would not have been capable without the unconditional support from my loved ones and my father. My father has always encouraged me to take on new challenges, taught me important life skills, and provided support and guidance as I navigated different stages of development. He has also provided me with financial and emotional support and advocated for my interests and aspirations. His influence has had a significant impact on my development, success, and has helped to shape the person that I am today. I also want to shout out my long-time friend Chase Campbell. He has been by my side for many years, and we have always pushed each other to go harder and reach our full potential. We both have always provided encouragement, inspiration, advice, support, and held each other accountable for as long as I can remember. He provided me with a safe and supportive space to share my ideas and experiences. When I was in the process of taking this leap of faith, he was there to help the development of the brand and we constantly shared different ideas with each other visioning different concepts for KOSTAR. Ultimately, having supportive friends like him who push me to go harder daily has led to greater success and fulfillment in my life and I will forever be grateful for that.
