We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaloni Cush and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaloni, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have been a creative person since I was a kid. I was always creating something but fast forward to where I am now, I always wanted to be a business owner and as I got older I wanted to own a business that could allow me to do two things 1. give me the freedom to create on my own terms, and 2. connect with my community. So opening an art store was perfect for me because it’s so many avenues I can tap into to that will still be true to me and also aid me in making a differance and connecting with people.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are an art supply store that cater to professional and student artist and one of the avenues that set us apart is offering an experience to the community and not just with products, we also support small businesses by offering a space where they can sell thier products and grow thier brand with our vendor lease program. Right now the buisness took a hit where we lost our brick & mortar and as a new business owner this could of sent me in a downward spiral of feeling like i faild, but instead I reached out to my family and friends who are succesfull business owners and asked for guideance and I held on to every piece of advice they gave me which gave me the strength to keep fighting for my dream/buisness. I am currently in this moment right now and I am still learning but I am still moving and the business has new beginnings coming soon. What do I want the world to know about my brand is I WILL NEVER STOP DREAMING!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I dont have a list of places really for food Juicy crab is always the first stop these days but after that we would just wing the rest of the trip lol and of course a Sunday funday I would take them to whatever the hotest brunch spot is at the time.
