We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalie Demerjian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always been a creative thinker and a passion in drawing and creating. 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my work’s originality and authenticity. The work I create is uniquely creepy yet humorous. It can relate to people at the most truest sense in the most playful way. I am most proud about starting my own online shop and extremely excited to see where is goes. It has not been easy, but I just remind myself why I do it. I do it because it’s what I love to do and it always will be. I want people to know the true meaning behind my work is to share and seek true connections with others and to let people know we are never alone in this world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Southern California, San Diego. So I would love to show them around the beach and hit some of my favorite taco and burrito spots and take them surfing. I love road trips so I would love to spend time driving up the California coast.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out to my family and friends who have support me throughout the years.
