Hi Kaleisha Hatchin, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Balancing work and life has definitely been a challenge. Initially it was very hard finding time for ourselves, the business, and our families. After sitting down and making the conscious effort to schedule our time accordingly, we are able to balance work and life in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming. As business owners, sometimes it’s hard to take off the business owner hat because there is always so much to do. But we’ve realized that if we give ourselves realistic expectations on how many hours a day you will dedicate to work, it makes the work life balance so much easier.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The road to starting Uniquely starting during the peak of the 2020 pandemic. Being out of work and quarantined at home made us realize that this is the perfect time to start a business of our own. We really wanted to be our own bosses, make our own schedules and truly do something we were passionate about. At that moment, there was nothing standing in our way. We sat down, picked a name, made a plan and Uniquely was born. We spent 6 months researching and developing the perfect bath products that not only smelled great but provide amazing moisturizing properties and is safe for all skin types. The road was not easy, it definitely took lots of trial and error and the plan changed several times. However, we are extremely proud of every aspect of Uniquely, down to the ingredients we source, the packing materials we ship with and the labels we design. We take pride in every single step necessary to create best smelling and looking products for our customers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We absolutely love a nice restaurant with a patio with a good view! Throw in a couple on pina coladas and we are in heaven! We are foodies and love eating some great cuisine. Spending time with friends over a great plate of food is the best day in my opinion.

Living in southern Georgia, we have lots of beaches and water features. Hanging out at the beach, with the grill and some music is a nice way to relax on a Saturday afternoon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our families truly motivate us and give us the strength to push forward as business owners. Creating and excecuting a brand vision is not easy, otherwise everyone would be doing it. It truly takes the love and support of the people who are closest to you. In our case, it’s our spouses, Mark and Ronnie. They are always there to lend a hand, listen to a problem and offer solutions.
