We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaja Brielle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaja, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Over the past year I’ve grown my tiktok account from 38 followers to 174,797 followers! I’m sure natural talent had something to do with it but my content is really for the people. I make a point to encourage, uplift, and inspire anyone who comes across one of my videos. I love to make people smile! I make funny and relatable content hoping that it might make even just one person’s day a little better. I want people to leave my page feeling better than they did before or feeling inspired to go out and chase their dreams just as I am doing now. My goal is to continue creating a safe space for my lgbtqia community. This journey called life is a tough one and I’ve learned that we can’t do it all on our own.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of my accomplishments on tiktok and the doors it’s been opening for me. It all started when I posted an original song that I thought was relatable especially to the lgbtqia community. Once I posted it I went from 38 followers to 20,000 literally overnight! Now this may seem like an easy overnight success but it took a lot for me to post a song I had written myself. Even though I had been writing songs for awhile, I never really had confidence in my skills and didn’t think they were good enough to share with the world. With all this new attention, I decided I wasn’t going to squander this opportunity. I made a game plan to post good quality content on a regular basis to keep the trend of popularity on an uprise. I also make a point not to curse in any of my videos because I want everyone to be able to enjoy them from my mother all the way down to my 4 year old niece. I’ve learned a lot along the way but I feel the most important thing is being yourself. I’m so glad and grateful that my popularity is not based on some gimmick and that I can truly be myself and still gain likes and follows. No matter if people like it or not I promised myself that I would remain me and not try to change for fame and fortune.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend actually has come to visit me before! We rented some scooters and rode around Piedmont Park. We went to a place called Sivas Hookah Lounge. There were drinks, hookah, good food, and an awesome DJ! We ended the visit with a trip to The Juicy Crab. I highly recommend getting the Juicy Crab special sauce which is a mixture of all their sauce choices including: Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper sauce! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off shoutout to God & my mama! God needs no explanation, He’s God and I couldn’t physically, mentally, or emotionally do ANYTHING without Him. My mom has been an amazing support and inspiration to me my whole life. I just want to make her proud and once I make it she’ll never want for anything. I do want to also give a special shoutout to my talent agency Gill Talent Group. They are a group black melanin queens who are about their business. They signed me back in 2019 and have been rocking with me for 3 years now! They saw something in me early on and even though I wasn’t booking many jobs, they still saw potential in me and I’m grateful for their continued support. I will make them proud.
