We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaeshae Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaeshae, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business helps the world by making women feel more secure within themselves and how they look. I initially started out as just a makeup artist but I’ve grown my brand into esthetics. It’s rewarding to see others happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an esthetician is more rewarding than people may realize. I get to wake up in the morning, pray and cater to others. I love the career because I feel you can do so much. Whether it’s makeup, facials, waxing, etc. you never stop growing. It was not easy being from a small town where everyone knows everyone and also going to school paying for it full price at a later age. I didn’t let it stop me though and I pushed through because I knew it was something I wanted to do. I’ve learned a lot along the way. One of the main things is how to handle people in general. Like most careers regarding the beauty industry you have good people and not so good people but you treat them all the same. You never know what someone may be going through. I want the world to know that Eighty Seven Esthetics is just getting started!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being from a small town for a week? We are definitely hitting some spots here and in Memphis. In my hometown, it’s only right to eat at Volta and Obys. As far as drinks, definitely The Library. I feel like if we go to Memphis, the possibilities are endless, but always be careful and aware of your surroundings.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, of course! My children and my parents. I feel like because of them I am who I am. Because of my children I’ve grown as a person. My parents help me where I fall short most times.
