We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadi Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kadi, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember me by my kindness and ambition. When someone sits in my chair, it’s so much more than a color service. I love connecting with my client, seeing her inner beauty so I can create that through her color. I am determined to make a change in this industry. It’s time to empower each other & help one another grow.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started assisting my junior year of high school , in two little salons down town Dawsonville. I have always loved people, I love big. So what drew me to this industry was when someone sits down in your chair, they feel safe, you can transform their hair and whole new person walking out. It is an honor to me that I get to do this daily. If I had to give advice to younger stylist, stay driven, find good mentors & education, Never be the best in the room, you stop growing. There is always room for growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I work in Cumming but I was raised in Dawsonville which is really close by- I love the outdoors, Dawsonville is a small town, so if you are looking for get away with resting on the mind this is the place. I would definitely tell you to get in the car and just explore the mountains. Amicalola Falls is a beautiful place. There are a few really neat Airbnbs to stay in like a glamping tent & tree house near by. There is a great biscuit place called J & S. And if you love antiques I have a booth at Soul Sister antiques & decor!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To the ones who always supported me no matter what!
