We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaden Lymon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaden, how do you think about risk?
I embrace the idea of risk taking because I don’t see anything I do as a risk. By its’ nature, a risk is something that could result in the loss of something. I am a firm believer that whatever happens was supposed to happen, so I tend to not think of the positive negative outcomes of any given situation. I do anything for my success, and if things don’t go as planned I take a lesson out of it. When I get told no, I am unfazed by that response. There is nothing that feels like a risk to me, as I only focus on the reward aspect of my decisions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from most other photographers is my ability to connect to my client. I offer my clients with a very comfortable environment to ensure that they feel like their best self during the photoshoots, I am proud that I have singlehandedly made a name for myself in an entirely different state. When I walk around campus, people know who I am and they know my wok and that truly warms my heart. This road has not been easy, and I want people to know that entrepreneurs are more than just brand owners. There was a span from about March to May where I was not active at all in my business because of my mental health. It had gotten so bad to the point where I was harming myself and attempting to take my own life. Being in this space has allowed me to appreciate life more, and now I work harder than ever to create a successful business. I treat what I do less like work, and more like my passion because that is what is. Running a photography business has taught me that it is not about how good you are, it’s about how hard you work and how well you sell yourself. I have seen people with amazing pictures never get any clients because they do not take it seriously. But, I make sure that I always have a beautiful pitch and I make sure to always put in overtime so that I can one day reach my biggest goals and aspirations.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends from back home came down to Atlanta for a week, we would definitely go down to Atlantic Station and the Battery. The vibes at both of these locations is literally perfect, and I find something new there every time. Atlantic Station always has talented brand owners outside, some of which I’ve grown close to, selling their merchandise and it’s always some quality stuff. You can also get some good food, and there’s a huge variety of things to try. Atlantic Station is just the perfect spot in general.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to first thank my parents and the rest of my immediate family for all they have done for me and for shaping me into the man I am today. They have supported me through everything and I cannot thank them for that enough. Also a special shoutout to my close friends that have been there for me emotionally when I needed it most. And lastly I want to thank everyone that has genuinely supported my business, it means the world to me!
