Hi Jyell and Kayla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The inspiration to start our business came from a fun, spontaneous project. It was my sister’s 21st birthday, and we decided to decorate her first legal bottle with some bling. That simple, joyful moment sparked a passion in us, and we began customizing and decorating all types of bottles, bringing people’s unique visions to life. Not only did we find immense enjoyment in this creative process, but it also became a fantastic way for us to earn income while we were still in college.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As co-owners of BoujeeBlingBottlez, my partner and I have similar yet distinct stories. I’m Jyell, co-CEO and founder of our business, and I’m Kayla, co-CEO and founder as well. What began as just a fun project has grown into something we cherish like our baby. Beyond our bottle customization business, we’ve also launched a podcast together called the “Xclusive Tea Talk Show.” BoujeeBlingBottlez is one of our sponsors, but we are actively seeking additional sponsorships to support our endeavors.

I proudly graduated from thee illustrious Clark Atlanta University majoring in Mass Media Arts, with a concentration in Radio, TV and Film. My journey hasn’t been easy, especially post- grad and navigating the challenges of finding my path, but I never gave up. Outside of our venture, I am currently working in my field and steadily climbing the media ladder. I’m an Atlanta-based model and an aspiring actress with a keen interest in both on-camera and behind-the-scenes work. I’m also in the process of launching my own media outlet. I, on the other hand, recently graduated from the University of West Georgia majoring in Mass Communications, concentrating in Film/Production, and a minor in Marketing. My journey has been driven by hard work, dedication, and eagerness to embrace new challenges. Staying adaptable in a constantly evolving industry has allowed me to remain relevant and competitive in the media field. I have a strong preference for behind-the-scenes work and I take great pleasure in transforming people’s ideas into reality. Continuous learning and development have been essential to my professional growth. I am always seeking new ways to apply my passion and skills.

We are extremely passionate about our work and have big dreams. We aim to build a legacy and leave a remarkable impression on people. Though our story is still being written, we want everyone to know that each day is a new opportunity, and we are all destined for greatness. You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Every day, ask yourself: if today were your last day, would you be satisfied with what you accomplished? That is our motivation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a close friend were visiting Atlanta for the week, there are several must-visit spots we’d take them to. For a relaxed hangout, we’d probably visit Ponce City Market, The Battery, or Puttshack. For dinner, we’d likely choose Yebo for its delicious food and classy ambiance. For a more casual dining experience, we’d go to Halidom Eatery or Frida’s, they offer great drinks and food. Later in the evening, we’d visit Madhouse Sports Bar and Grill or Trap City Cafe for a lively, fun atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to our family and friends for their unwavering support and investment in our business from day one. Although we still have a long way to go, their unconditional love means the world to us. We’d also like to acknowledge ourselves for the countless hours and late nights we dedicated to starting this venture. Our commitment to delivering the best work and bringing people’s visions to life has been a labor of love. To everyone out there, remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, and it will eventually pay off.
