We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Kase and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

After being a radio personality on and off since high school and working as a ballboy for the NBA, I always knew entertainment was where my heart was. Being on the radio for so long and doing radio shows like Zaytoven Radio I had a change of heart and picked a camera up and starting shooting pictures. I actually had my neighbor meet me at the shoots and get my camera adjusted properly and I would run out and do the shoot. 😄 🤣 😂. I appreciate Jeremy so much for that.

Once the pandemic hit, I studied the camera, learned the camera and shot everything in sight. I set up an LLC and La’Tasha Givens a friend from broadcasting school invited me to the Red Carpet and my pictures were horrible. I ended up buying a professional flash and hit the next Red Carpet and I was happy with the results.

I have utilized personal relationships from my radio career and applied them to photography to shoot more pictures and pick up more clientele. Everytime you shoot you are supposed to create a concept and execute it precisely. When your clients smile, you did good.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes ro setting me apart from others, thats something I won’t ever do because I’m there to make my client happy. I am most proud of being 3.6 years clean off Adderall and Cocaine. I am also very proud of being on the entertainment industry since 1998. It has been an incredible experience but as long as you stay out the way and network the proper and honest way, you’ll stay in the game. One thing you can’t do is burn bridges because everyone in this industry knows somebody you know and word travels fast. When it comes to Justin Kase Photography, my brand is honest, hard working, people oriented and you’ll always be happy with the final product! @justinkasephoto on IG

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend from home in Vegas came to visit me in Atlanta for the first time I took her all over. We hit the Avalon to have a few drinks at Barley Garden- Whats up Jansen?! We went bowling. Then we went downtown and hit the Diner and a few drinks at Hudson Cafe. We went to Avalon and took her to PBR Rockbar for a fun night at the battery and back to my home. I would suggest if you coming to Atlanta to hit Nappy Roots Atlantucky Brewing on Northside Drive and Cherry Street Brewing at Halcyon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people to shout out and it’s impossible to fit everyone in. I’d like to shout out Jeremy in South Carolina for setting up my camera before my shoots and teaching me about ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture. I want to thank John in Houston for teaching me through Zoom and communication through the phone. Marlon Latta for being my radio boss in SC and also teaching me about photography. When the pandemic got, thank you to La’Tasha Givens for getting me through divorce and bringing me to the red carpet. Thank you to Larry, Michael, Walil, Derek, Nathan, Scott Cunningham and Paras for taking time to answer questions when I asked. Thank you to my brother of 15 years, Rich Prick Tana.
