Meet Jusani July | Writer & Content Creater

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jusani July and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jusani, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
We all want to be remembered for something, to be seen as a person who made a difference in the world. For the past few years I’ve made it my mission to make my corner of the world a brighter place. I feel like at one point in my life love and kindness was all I needed, which pushed me to be the person for others that I once desperately needed for myself. Since then, I’ve made it my duty to be remembered as the person who made everyone feel seen, loved, heard, and the person who is kind to everyone no matter their differences. I want people to remember me for my uplifting words and artwork and my kind and loving spirit. Leaving a long lasting legacy is my ultimate goal. To ensure that legacy, I’ve created an organization called Thenakedview. The name simply means that I use my knowledge, experiences, and imagination to shine light on topics that the world covers up such as mental illness and self love. Using that name, I have made multiple platforms: a blog, a youtube channel, an instagram, and a tik tok. Each platform has its own niche. Comparingly, I use each of these platforms to motivate others and let them know that no matter what they are going through, they’re not alone. My main goal throughout all of my work is to spread love and encourage others to love themselves and those around them.
The world is already a hateful place, why add to it?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My organization is called Thenakedview. The artwork consists of poems, drawings, photographs, blog post, and creative videos. I think using creative art to portray my own unique experiences and knowledge sets me apart from others because no one has had the exact same journey as me so no ones story will be identical to mine. I write poems about past heartbreaks and childhood traumas. My videos consist of random activities I do in my everyday life. I base my blog post off of bible versus, past/present experiences, random thoughts, motivational quotes, etc. Consistency, bravery, and determination has gotten me where I am today. Being brave has helped in many ways especially since most of my work consists of my own personal struggles and wounds. Knowing that it could be used to bring awareness and help others who may be going through similar situations has helped keep me motivated. Throughout my career i’ve learned that anything is possible and sometimes I can be in the way of my own success by letting procrastination and doubt take over. I want my brand to bring people closer to God and encourage people all over the world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting town for a week I would have a different place for us to go each day. On Monday we would go out for dinner at a simple restaurant (maybe Pappadeaux) and catch a late movie. On Tuesday we would meet up for brunch with some old mutual friends at a fancy restaurant of their choice and sit outside while we catch up on each others lives & careers. After lunch I’d drop her off at her hotel for a couple of hours before we get ready for bowling night. On Wednesday i’d cook dinner at my place and invite her and some other friends over for game night, I love game nights! On Thursday I’d take her to my favorite mall in Atlanta (Perimeter mall) and we’d shop till we drop! After shopping we will stop for lunch at my favorite fast food place (chick-fil-a) on the way home. Friday would be our chill day i’d take her to my favorite book store and local park for a picnic. On Saturday we will stop for lunch on our way to drop her off at the airport. I am a very simple person so it doesn’t take much for me to have a fun time. Eating and hanging with friends would be very fun and interesting for me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am today without the help of my great family & friends. I also want to acknowledge my all time favorite book “Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyer. Reading that book inspired me to start my organization.
