We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Renaud and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juliana, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Meraki Wellness takes a gentle approach to better eating habits. We specialize in plant based creations. With this approach we are impacting the environment in a positive manner as well as preventing illness in the body. Long term vision is to create a sustainable community where we grow our own food, have a farm to table cafe, build homes that are eco friendly and and the waste created will go back into the earth.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Meraki Wellness is a mind-body-spirit driven company. As a new startup, we are currently offering plant-based catering services and spiritual guidance. What sets us apart from others is that we focus on the body as a wholistic being – it’s more than just eating healthy. It’s how we speak life into our foods and how we intuitively listen to what our temples need. We started with vending food at vegan events and have now expanded to retreats and big events such as birthdays, parties, and other celebrations. We constantly are striving to provide the best service and flavorful organic foods, debunking the myth that you have to sacrifice taste for health. My biggest obstacle was the constant choice to choose plant-based foods over the convenience of other unhealthy choices. Eating out a few years ago was almost impossible unless I was ordering fries or a bland salad. Today there are healthier plant-based options not only in restaurants but in supermarkets too.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is well know n for its food and outings in the city. I would show em the best.
Ponce city market for a Sunny afternoon stroll where we can walk the belt line and find endless food options in the market.
Fernbank at night for vibes and drinks in a museum.
Cinaholic for amazing vegan treats
Noni’s, for the most authentic Italian food and eclectic cocktails and wine straight from Italy.
Grass VBQ for fingerlooking good vegan bbq. You can’t even tell the difference!
The loco coco for authentic Mexican plant based cuisine in auburn market
Breakfast at Barney’s, gotta catch em when they are not busy or else you’ll be waiting at least an hour for a time. It’s well worth the wait though!
Battle and brew where we can rent a tv and play video and board games while being served Booz and snacks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to take the time to recognize our dear family friend, Christian Ahmed. For years he has supported our vision by partnering with us for his events to create healthy and amazing meals for the guests. To this day, we have created a synergistic relationship.
