We had the good fortune of connecting with Julian Allred and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julian, why did you pursue a creative career?
Shockingly and God favoring, the artistic and creative career pursued me! Haha it sounds corny but that’s how my story started out. At the age of 2 years old I was blessed to be adopted into a loving family and my dad just so happened to be one of the best drummers in our community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a 25 year old professional Drummer/Musician, Educator, and Entrepreneur from High Point, NC. I began playing drums ever since I can remember but I always knew I was much more than just a drummer/musician. What sets myself apart from many creatives and artists is the ability to apply and step into one’s vision. Aside from work ethic, it sometimes takes true passion and manifestation with a hint of delusion in order to see your dreams play out right before you. What I am most proud of is my capability to remain happy and at peace with my passion and career. When in doubt I’m always able to remain faithful and trusting that God will allow my gift to make room for me and my loved ones. Through a tons of trial-and-error, I’ve found a great deal of balance and productivity that allows me to continuously grow throughout my many endeavors. Was this easy? I’d say it wasn’t easy but as long as you’re pursuing something you love and are truly passionate about, 10,000 hours flies by like a single day. One thing I want the world to know about me is that I genuinely don’t care about what anybody has to think nor say about me. I’m nowhere near perfect and neither are you. As faithful entrepreneurs, we must maintain the same amount of comfortability with boasting our flaws and mistakes just as we do our wins and success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Maaaannn if my best friends was visiting Atlanta, GA there’s no telling what we’d get into! There’s so many amazing food spots along with live music events and hostings, a single week would go by way too fast. For starters I would take them to JJ’s Chicken and Fish for a quick bite.. For a few drinks I’ll always suggest the Bucket Shop Cafe in Lenox Square as that’s one of my favorite yet affordable bas I’ve been to since moving to Atlanta. If we run out of events and food spots, I’m always gonna choose the Belt Line for a cozy scenery and social environment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shoutout my mom and dad, Lisa and Norman Allred for the continuous love and support they’ve blessed and continue to bless me with. If it wasn’t for my dad I don’t know what I’d be doing with my life and if it wasn’t for my mom I’d never be able to look at nor love life the way I do. My parents opened my eyes to a lot growing up while always reminding me how special my God given talent was.
