We had the good fortune of connecting with Judith Martinez Sadri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Judith, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
I have learned that one must identify a purpose in every project, business, or job.
There is a calling behind what you are doing, and that is a huge force of motivation and thriving.
When you can find the purpose, it does not matter if the business or job becomes hard to accomplish, how long it lasts, or if it is over!
I owned a publishing business for a decade, and when it was over, I knew it had so many purposes and they were all accomplished, but the one I cherish the most, is the time we reunited a Mom and her son after publishing a cover story about a boy from Dalton, Georiga who was lost during two years and his Mom was desperately looking for him.
One of the purposes of that business was to be a community service, a family reuniter! and all the hardships we went through trying to keep the doors open were worth it!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I came to Georgia to study English right after graduating from college in Monterrey, Mexico. I finished a two-year Intensive English program at The Language Institute at Georgia Tech. I wanted to go back to my county but I fall in love and decided to make Atlanta my new home.
My Marketing, Public Relations, and Media experience expand over two decades, I am a 4x Emmy Award-Winning Content Producer and Anchor.
I became a media entrepreneur after not finding what I was looking for, a quality publication with information to help immigrants make informed decisions.
I consider myself a pioneer in Spanish media in Georgia, I have been part of leadership teams that launched unique projects.
Atlanta Latino was the first bilingual web/print publication, where I served as co-founder and Editor in Chief.
I was the first female News Anchor and News Director of Noticiero Telemundo, An Emmy award-winning Newscast where I won 3 Emmys for Best News Anchor, Producer, and Writer.
Following my passion to empower women, I co-founded YoSoyM the first Social Venture dedicated to creating events to unite and empower Latinas.
I also joined Cox Media Group to lead their Digital Content team for Mundo Hispanico the fastest-growing digital Spanish news media platform in the U.S.
I am an “Imported peach” I am a native of Monterrey, Mexico, and have lived half of my life in Georgia. I am a regular speaker at conferences focused on women’s empowerment, marketing, diversity, and leadership. I am a Certified #IamRemarkable Google facilitator.
One of my missions in life is to inspire and motivate people to re-invent themselves—especially middle-aged women. I produce and host a podcast called Reinvent Yourself (Reinventate!) during which I interview remarkable people. This year I launched a series of self-development workshops for women in Atlanta and around the world.
I love connecting, communicating, and empowering people with information and I have learned so many lessons in the past two decades: Be Authentic, follow your passion and find your purpose!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will definitely start the day with a hike to Stone Mountain or a bike ride at the BeltLine, or any of the beautiful bike trails up in Suwannee. Then we will have lunch in Rumi’s Persian Cuisine either in Roswell or in Alpharetta.
Then we will pack up and spend a weekend in Blue Ridge Mountains, rent a cabin, have homemade breakfast by the river, and take a canoe trip in the river.
On the way back, we would book a hotel room at the CNN center and spend one day visiting the museums around town.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to Diego and Leila Sadri, my children who are the two stars of my life, and to Farid Sadri, husband, soulmate, and love of my life.
