We had the good fortune of connecting with Joyce Blackmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joyce, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, my thought process came down to one word — freedom.
After years of working as a Project Manager and Trainer, I realized how much I loved helping people grow, develop their potential, and achieve big goals. But I also wanted to create something of my own — something that allowed me to serve others while living life on my own terms.

That’s how both of my businesses were born — J&J Realty Group, LLC and Xplore With Joy Social & Travel Agency, LLC. Real estate allows me to help families and investors build wealth through ownership, while travel gives me the opportunity to create experiences that bring people together and remind them what it means to truly live.

At the heart of both is my purpose: helping others design a life of freedom, purpose, and joy — because that’s exactly what I wanted for myself too.

What should our readers know about your business?
My professional journey has been a mix of purpose, passion, and perseverance. By day, I work full-time as an Integration Architect, where I manage complex projects and systems that connect people, processes, and technology. After 5 p.m., I shift gears into my two businesses — J&J Realty Group, LLC, where I help families and investors build wealth through homeownership, and Xplore With Joy Social & Travel Agency, LLC, where I create unforgettable travel experiences that bring people together.

What truly sets me apart is how much I care about people. Whether I’m helping a first-time buyer close on their dream home or planning a dream vacation, I lead with service, integrity, and intention. For me, it’s not just about transactions — it’s about transformation. I want every client to walk away feeling empowered, valued, and inspired to live life on their own terms.

Balancing a 9–5 career while running two businesses hasn’t been easy, but it’s been rewarding. There have been long nights, lessons learned, and moments of doubt — but I’ve learned that consistency, faith, and discipline are the keys to building something meaningful. My background as a Project Manager and Trainer taught me how to lead and stay organized under pressure, which has been invaluable in entrepreneurship.

What I want the world to know about me and my brands is simple: everything I do is built on faith, purpose, and a genuine love for people. My mission is to help others design a life filled with freedom, purpose, and joy — because that’s exactly the life I’ve created for myself, one day and one dream at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta, I’d make sure they experienced the city the way I see it — full of life, flavor, and southern charm.

We’d check in at The Omni Hotel at The Battery or Hotel Colee in Buckhead, then kick things off with brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s or Toast on Lenox — because no Atlanta trip starts without great food! From there, we’d explore Ponce City Market and the Atlanta BeltLine, stopping for boutique shopping and rooftop views at Nine Mile Station.

For dinner, I’d take them to The Garden Room for its magical atmosphere or The Southern Gentleman, a chic spot that serves elevated southern cuisine. We’d also visit The King Center and The National Center for Civil and Human Rights — two places that beautifully capture Atlanta’s history and heart.

Midweek, we’d enjoy a night out at Rock Steady or Del Frisco’s, then relax with a spa day at JeJu Sauna or Exhale Spa Midtown. To end the trip, we’d have dinner at Canoe by the Chattahoochee River — one of my favorite hidden gems.

Atlanta truly has it all — incredible food, rich culture, and endless energy.

Travel Tip from Xplore With Joy: Visit in the spring or fall when the weather is perfect for rooftop dining and festivals, and always book reservations early — Atlanta’s food scene stays busy year-round!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m a firm believer that no one succeeds alone, and I’ve been truly blessed with incredible people along my journey.

First and foremost, I give all glory to God — He has been my constant guide, provider, and source of strength through every high and low.

I also want to recognize my daughter, Breonna, who motivates me every single day. She’s strong, intelligent, and independent, and seeing her shine in her own career reminds me why it’s so important to lead by example.

Professionally, I owe a huge amount of gratitude to my real estate coach, Alicia Thomas, and my coach and mentor, Latrice Jones, within the PlanNet Marketing and InteleTravel community. Both of them believed in me before I fully believed in myself. Their leadership, training, and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping the businesswoman I am today.

And finally, to every client, business partner, and supporter who has trusted me along the way — thank you. Whether you booked a trip, bought a home, or simply shared a kind word of encouragement, you’ve each played a part in my success story, and I’m deeply grateful.
