We had the good fortune of connecting with Joy Moseri-Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Zoya Group Inc. was a deeply intentional decision rooted in our shared passion for real estate and community building. We envisioned creating a firm that not only provides exceptional real estate services but also fosters genuine relationships with our clients, helping them navigate one of the most significant decisions of their lives.

Our journey began with a desire for greater flexibility, independence, and the ability to tailor our approach to each client’s unique needs. We wanted to build a business that reflected our values—integrity, transparency, and a commitment to excellence. With years of experience in the industry, we saw an opportunity to do things differently, prioritizing education, personalized service, and long-term client success over quick transactions.

Zoya Group Inc. is more than just a real estate company; it’s a brand built on trust, innovation, and a deep understanding of the market. Our goal is to empower buyers, sellers, and investors with the knowledge and confidence to make the best real estate decisions.

We’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made so far and look forward to continuing to serve our community and expand our reach.

Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time? How do you think about the balance?

“Work-life balance is something we’ve had to be intentional about, especially as business owners and parents. Over time, our perspective on balance has evolved—from trying to ‘do it all’ at once to understanding that true balance is about prioritization, boundaries, and flexibility.

When we first started Zoya Group, Inc., we poured everything into the business. Long hours, late nights, and constantly being ‘on’ felt necessary to build our brand. But as time passed, we realized that sustained success isn’t just about working hard—it’s about working smart. We learned to prioritize what truly matters, delegate when needed, and set boundaries to protect our time.

Becoming parents to our son, Mason, in 2023 through IVF further changed our outlook. Our family became our greatest priority, and we became more intentional about structuring our time in a way that allows us to be present—both at home and in business. Instead of striving for a perfect ‘balance,’ we focus on integration—aligning our personal and professional lives in a way that allows us to thrive in both.

For us, balance isn’t about rigid schedules or equal time in every area—it’s about being fully engaged in whatever we’re doing at the moment. Whether it’s closing a deal, spending quality time with Mason, or supporting each other’s goals, we give our full energy to the task at hand.

We’ve also learned that having a strong support system—our family, friends, and business partners—makes all the difference. Surrounding ourselves with people who understand our vision and values allows us to show up as our best selves in every aspect of life.

Ultimately, work-life balance isn’t a destination—it’s a continuous process of adjusting, learning, and being intentional about where we invest our time and energy. And for us, success isn’t just about building a thriving business; it’s about creating a fulfilling life along the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Pursuing a career in real estate may not seem like an artistic or creative path at first glance, but for us, it absolutely is. Real estate is about more than just buying and selling properties—it’s about vision, strategy, and storytelling. Every home has a story, and every client has a unique journey, and we see our role as curators of those experiences.

Joy’s background in behavioral health and clinical work has given her a deep understanding of people’s emotions, needs, and aspirations. Real estate is an extension of that—helping individuals and families envision a future in a new space, guiding them through big life transitions, and creatively problem-solving to make their goals a reality.

Eric’s experience as a Navy Veteran and sales and training leader in the biomedical and biopharma industries instilled in him a knack for strategic thinking and communication. But it’s also where he honed the ability to craft compelling narratives—whether training professionals or negotiating deals. Real estate allows him to bring that same creativity into marketing, branding, and finding innovative ways to connect people with the right opportunities.

Beyond that, building Zoya Group, Inc. from the ground up has been an incredibly creative endeavor. From branding and marketing to designing personalized client experiences, we approach our business as an art form. We are constantly innovating, finding new ways to engage with our community, and crafting a service that is both functional and inspiring.

At its core, our work is about creation—helping people create homes, build wealth, and design the lives they envision. That’s why real estate isn’t just a career for us; it’s a creative passion that allows us to blend strategy, storytelling, and service in a way that’s both fulfilling and impactful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d craft an unforgettable itinerary that blends delicious food, exciting experiences, and a touch of culture — a perfect mix of what Eric and I love most.

Kick things off with an elegant dining experience at Bacchanalia, where we can indulge in their incredible multi-course tasting menu. It’s the kind of place where every bite feels like a celebration. Afterward, we’d swing by The Garden Room for cocktails — their vibrant, whimsical ambiance is always a treat.

Start the day with a refreshing jog at Stone Mountain Park, soaking in the scenic trails and iconic granite dome. After working up an appetite, we’d head straight to Ford BBQ in Stone Mountain — smoky, tender, finger-licking goodness that’s perfect post-jog fuel. Since Eric’s a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan, a trip to Battery Park for a baseball game is a must. While I don’t personally connect with baseball, I’d still enjoy the lively atmosphere and camaraderie.

Explore the powerful and thought-provoking Center for Civil and Human Rights. Visit the High Museum of Art, where stunning exhibits provide endless inspiration. Cap off the day with dinner at Lyla Lila, where the Italian-inspired menu never disappoints.

A leisurely walk through Piedmont Park, followed by coffee and pastries from Alon’s Bakery & Market. Unwind at the serene Atlanta Botanical Garden, especially if the orchids are in bloom. Since Eric and I are both huge fans of the Fox Theater, we’d definitely catch a Broadway show — nothing beats the grandeur of that iconic venue. It holds a special place in our hearts since we got married there in 2021.

A visit to the Georgia Aquarium for an awe-inspiring look at marine life — the whale sharks are a must-see. Enjoy authentic Nigerian flavors at African Palace in Stone Mountain or Ikes Cafe and Grill to pay homage to my roots. Treat ourselves to an exciting dining experience at Gunshow, where the interactive, chef-driven setup keeps things lively and delicious.

Relax with brunch at The Chastain, where farm-to-table dishes and great coffee make for the perfect morning. If our best friend’s visit coincides with the World Cup, we’d definitely score tickets to watch a soccer match — the electric energy is unbeatable. Celebrate the night with dinner at Umi followed by cocktails at Red Phone Booth, a speakeasy that’s always a fun way to end the night.

On their final morning, we’d enjoy a relaxed brunch at Sun in My Belly for incredible comfort food and strong coffee — a perfect send-off before they head home.

From iconic Atlanta landmarks to Michelin-star dining, this week would be packed with memorable moments. With good food, meaningful conversations, and a mix of adventure and relaxation, it’d be a trip to remember!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A major part of our journey has been earning the trust and respect of our Broker, Raquel Twine of Atlanta Luxury Homes and Condos. Having a leader who empowers us, provides guidance, and encourages our growth has been invaluable. Raquel’s support has allowed us to thrive in an environment where excellence is expected, innovation is encouraged, and success is celebrated.

At the core of it all, our success comes from the people around us—our broker, our team, our family, and our clients. With trust, respect, and a commitment to understanding, we’re able to build something truly meaningful and lasting.
