We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, how do you define success?
I define success as knowing and walking in your purpose. Purpose is the reason that we exist. I believe that everyone has a purpose and that every life has meaning. Success is found when we discover that purpose and maximize our potential. There may be just one thing that God sent me to the earth to do. I want to make sure that I am doing it and that I am doing it well. To me, that is success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a serial entrepreneur, all of my businesses connect to the purpose of my life, which is to help people heal, find their purpose, and maximize their potential. What sets my businesses apart from others is my focus on living emotionally healthy, whole and free as I help people walk in their purpose, find their why and navigate difficult moments in life.

I am most excited about the work that I do to help people heal, especially leaders from various backgrounds. I understand that when I help a leader, I am helping everyone they lead. This brings me great joy because of the far-reaching impact.

I have learned to embrace my uniqueness and not compare myself to others. I have learned to be comfortable doing what works for me and the clients who are assigned to me. This includes my clients in my private therapy practice, my life and business coaching clients, my mental health coaching clients as well as the churches, ministries and non-profits that I provide training and consulting services to.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting my area, there would definitely be a lot of restaurant stops on the list. I live in a beach town and seafood is here in an abundance. We would also visit the beach, as well as the islands in the Gulf of Mexico. This is really a great place to relax. In addition to that, there are several art museums to visit in the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated to my parents, Gary & Carolyn Peters, who raised me to believe in myself and do my best at all times without fear or excuses.
