We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Creating a business has always been a dream of mine. When I was developing the concept for Kolors apparel I tried to use the two things that I believe the whole world has in common, the need for clothes and knowledge of different colors. Through those two things I developed the concept of using word play and different color variations to catch people’s attention and generate conversation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got where I am today professionally by simply wanting more out of life. After graduating high school I moved to Atlanta in pursuit of something greater. I was fortunate to land a position with Delta where I stayed for 10 years until the pandemic hit. At that time I took the opportunity to really pursue my passion and dream, Kolors Apparel. This pursuit has not been easy. I have had to overcome my biggest obstacle which was financial insecurity. After leaving Delta, a position that provided me a steady income, I had to learn how to really believe in myself, my skills and my business at all costs. A shift in mindset was necessary for me to make this happen. The self-doubt, the plan B was no longer an option. My mindset was and still is that I will do everything I can to make Kolors Apparel successful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Monday – Atlanta Aquarium

Tuesday – Hike at stone mountain, Red Pepper for dinner and drinks

Wednesday – Museums and sight seeing

Thursday – Beltline and Atlanta Zoo

Friday – Six Flags

Saturday – BQE for brunch and Sweet Lounge for the evening.

Sunday – Breakfast at Barneys (morning), Rum punch Brunch (afternoon, evening)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, my parents, grandparents and entire family. Without their consistent support I know that I would not be where I am today as an individual and a business owner.

Additionally, the books The Secret and The Alchemist taught me to believe in myself, think positive, stay positive and manifest all the things that I want in life specifically.
