We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Manns and Mylynda Manns and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan Manns and Mylynda Manns, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
JM: I knew in my profession I wouldn’t hit the success levels I was looking to achieve unless I worked for myself. So being able to provide for my family on my terms and the way I wanted to practice was important to me. I preferred to work for myself, find a great location that I could draw in patients from our area and surrounding areas in order for our business to take off.
MM: Our motto is ‘We work for our last name and not our first’. Basically, what that breaks down to mean is our “why” is bigger than just the two of us, even bigger than our kids- we want to provide an opportunity for legacy, entrepreneurship and ownership in order for our children’s children to thrive.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
MM: We are a husband-and-wife team that specializes in pain relief through chiropractic, physiotherapy, stem cell therapy, and oxygen therapy.
We got where we are today in business through a lot of prayer, hard work, and trial-and-error.
JM: We opened our doors right before COVID hit, but even with an entire pandemic happening, God kept blessing our business. We have a solid patient base that continues to grow and thrive.
MM: The Relief Doc even won “The Best of Georgia”, the highest award from the Georgia Business Journal, two years in a row!
JM: Yes we did! Running your own business is not for the weak-hearted, you have to know there will be ups and downs, there will be smiles and frowns, but you will succeed as long as you stick with it. Whatever life throws at you never quit. Problem solve and push through it.
MM: We are truly blessed and we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
JM: Going to The Battery would be a cool experience for someone new. Hiking at Kennesaw Mountain. Tons of restaurants from Fish Thyme, to Capers, to Henry’s Louisiana Grill. I’d go to Lake Allatoona for fishing.
MM: We mostly hang out with our three kids, so all of our fun is kid-friendly. Our kids love to play at Logan Park, hanging out at the Acworth Rec Center, watching movies and cooking together- things like that. We attend Freedom Church, they have an awesome kid’s program there that our kids love, as do we.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jesus and G-Mom. Our faith kept us through rough times and grandma is always so helpful with our 3 kids. Dr. David Kirk D.C. mentored us when we first opened our office as well as Dr. Gerald Kilpatrick D.C. who helped us connect the dots with some of the main attorneys that we work with. Thanks to all you guys!
