We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Fort Lauderdale, FL is my hometown. I moved frequently between GA and FL. Florida made me feel safe and seen. While Georgia tested my comfortability. I felt out of place but slowly grew into a new perspective. How i experienced parties, life, people & Muisc. Changed for the better. But Florida will always keep me grounded and brings me serenity.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love creating rap, music. But I like creating any kind of music. I listen to often. Along my journey I’ve been through scams, fake promoters, fraudulent deals But I appreciate every bit. Because out of that came a lot of good. I got to learn about what I like and dislike in music. Throughout 5 Years of music. I felt more connected to myself and gain so much joy from picking a beat or creating in general. Finding myself in music was never easy. I overcame all of these challenges because of the one idea that it will all pay off and I’ll be able to pass on this Knowledge later. Some Lessons I learned from this was Always critique yourself, Listen to constructive criticism it could benefit you a lot later, don’t be afraid to try new things, be adventurous, and life, and translated to music, don’t be so willing to Trust everyone And lastly, don’t give up even if you don’t feel motivated. One thing I want the world to know about my brand, is that I’m blessed because of Yahweh. I take life as it comes, and I’ll be going with the wave.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course grip good eats. Their fruity pebble French toast is amazing. Made me feel like i was a kid eating a big bowl of cereal. Any Chinese spots with faded signs and a classic 90s look inside. And in Florida i would say. Cuisine Lakay or any spots with older Haitian women who serve the food like she knows it’s good.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people who i thank the most. Is an old friend who believed i could take music seriously. Chuey is another friend of mine who i can thank. He helped bring me into his group and encourage me to do more content creation. Everyone who’s ever stopped to compliment my work and remind me to keep going. My mom for believing in me always and also my family. The woman who i date now has been a big supporter and i thank her as well.
