We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Colletta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Jordan has long had a passion for people, faith, music and business.
Whether working at UPS (he retired 10 years ago), selling commercial and residential real estate (he’s an active real agent) or co-managing a family business with his wife, Jordan has dedicated time to ministry work.
This dedication led him and his band to conduct Christian music concerts on a weekly basis at Georgia prisons/Correctional Centers, the United States Penitentiary Atlanta and numerous Georgia Homeless Shelters.
When asked to describe the band’s activity in these facilities Jordan said “we conduct a 90 minute Contemporary Christian rock/blues concert that feature original songs and a message of salvation and hope. The opportunity to bring hope to God’s people facing significant challenges helps us maintain an important life-work balance, while at the same time strengthening organization and leadership skills”.
Reflecting on his 37 year UPS career Jordan said that progressing from a clerks to the UPS Vice President of Customer Technology, with simply a vocational technical education, reminds him that nothing is impossible with God’s guidance and blessings.
Keeping God in the center of our lives and striving to do the best in all things is a great recipe for success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It wasn’t until I began doing ministry work that I was blessed with the ability to write, record and perform original Contemporary Christian songs.
In addition, I was been given the ability to play multiple instruments and the ability to sing
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since many of my friends are musicians I would schedule them to visit during Memorial Day Weekend, when we hold a Memorial Day Music Jam and Picnic. It’s held on a private lake and is a wonderful time for fellowship and to spend time with family and friends. (While at the same time remembering those who have died in service to our country.)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
1) First, I want to recognize that all things come from God’s grace
2) I am blessed to have a wife who is very faith-filled and supportive of ministry work (including the long hours it takes)
3) I am also very fortunate to have very talented band members who love God and give their time and talent freely to do God’s work
4) I want to acknowledge the many Chaplains, Coordinators, Producers, Administrators, Security Guards and facility people who help us schedule and coordinate our concerts
5) I also want to recognize the fantastic people I have worked with (and worked for), over the years.
They have helped me grow, in so many ways
