We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonni Parsons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonni, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It all started back in college when I was interning with Nike. I had the chance to learn from one of the biggest brands out there, and it really opened my eyes to the power of branding, storytelling, and connecting with an audience. What really stood out to me, though, was that while huge brands like Nike had all the resources to tell their story, smaller businesses didn’t always have that luxury — even though they had great products and services that deserved to be noticed.

So, I started experimenting with social media right from my dorm room. At first, it was just for fun, posting content and building my own personal brand. Over time, I grew a following of 600k on Instagram and Facebook. It wasn’t an overnight success, but I quickly learned that the key to growth was creating authentic, relatable content and really engaging with my audience. I saw firsthand how powerful social media could be when done right — it’s not just about numbers, but about building real connections with people.

That’s when it hit me: if I could grow my own audience from scratch, I could help other businesses do the same. So, I took the plunge and founded Sunday Morning Marketing. My whole goal with the business was to help good companies grow by connecting with their audience in a genuine way. I’ve always believed that great businesses deserve to succeed, but so many talented entrepreneurs struggle to cut through the noise and really communicate their value to the people they want to serve.

At Sunday Morning Marketing, we focus on creating authentic content, building engaged communities, and using social media to get businesses the visibility and connections they need to thrive. It’s been an awesome ride, and I’m pumped to keep helping businesses reach their potential.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sunday Morning Marketing is a marketing agency built around one simple idea: to help good businesses grow by connecting meaningfully with their audiences. We focus on crafting tailored, authentic marketing strategies that aren’t just about getting results, but about building real, lasting relationships. What sets us apart is our dedication to deeply understanding our clients and their customers, and the fact that we truly see marketing as a partnership rather than just a service. We’re not about quick fixes or flashy tactics; we’re about creating genuine value through strategic, thoughtful marketing that resonates.

What excites me most about Sunday Morning Marketing is the impact we’ve been able to have on our clients. Seeing the businesses we work with grow and thrive—whether it’s through increased brand awareness, better engagement, or higher conversion rates—feels incredibly fulfilling. I’m especially proud of the long-term relationships we’ve built and the trust our clients place in us to guide their marketing strategies. That’s what drives me every day: knowing that our work is making a difference for people who genuinely care about their craft and their customers.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Like most entrepreneurs, I faced a lot of challenges—learning the ropes of business, building a team, refining our processes, and figuring out how to balance creativity with the demands of running a business. But each challenge taught me something valuable. I learned the importance of resilience and patience, and that failure isn’t something to fear but something to learn from. There were many moments of doubt, but I kept pushing forward, staying focused on my mission of helping businesses succeed in an authentic way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Boston for a week, I’d mix adventure, culture, and great food. We’d start with brunch at *Tatte Bakery*, followed by a stroll through *Boston Common* and *Public Garden*. For lunch, we’d hit *Union Oyster House* for fresh seafood, and dinner would be at *The Capital Grille* with cocktails at *The Eliot Lounge*. One day, we’d hike at *Blue Hills Reservation* and grab tacos at *El Pelón Taquería* before enjoying craft beer at *Trillium Brewing*. We’d explore *Allston* for street art, visit *Harvard Art Museums*, and end the day at *The Rooftop at Revere* for drinks and live music.

We’d also take a day trip to *Salem* to see the Witch Museum and have lunch at *The Lobster Shanty*. Back in Boston, we’d check out *Boston Public Market* and have dinner at *Oleana* in Cambridge. For thrills, we might rent kayaks on the Charles River. We’d wrap up the week with breakfast at *Flour Bakery*, a walk along the *Harborwalk*, and dinner at *No. 9 Park* with views of the *Boston Common*. It’d be a perfect mix of history, food, and fun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my church and the principles I’ve learned from the Bible have played a huge role in how I approach business and life. The Bible teaches us the value of hard work, integrity, and serving others, which are foundational to my business practices. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” That verse has always been a guiding principle for me, reminding me that every step I take, I want it to align with my values and purpose. I also lean heavily on the concept of stewardship — using the resources, talents, and opportunities God has given me to serve others well, whether it’s through my work with clients or the way I build my team.

Another significant influence for me has been my involvement with C12 Group, a Christian CEO and business owner network. The C12 group has provided an invaluable community of like-minded entrepreneurs who are not just focused on growing their businesses, but also on building them with Kingdom principles in mind. The conversations we have about faith in the workplace, leading with integrity, and using business as a tool for good have helped shape my perspective on entrepreneurship. They’ve shown me that it’s possible to balance success with a strong moral compass and to use your business as a platform to serve others.
