We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon’ll Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jon’ll, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work/Life balance for me has truly been an evolution over the history of growing and transitioning my business while growing a family and transitioning into who I need to be as a mom for my boys and a wife for my husband. This was an area I was not the best at in the beginning because like many women entrepreneurs and high achieving women, I felt a since of needing to prove my value and my worth inside my home as well as within my industry/career. I’ve since then embarked on a deep spiritual and personal journey to rediscover myself through radical self love, personal and professional development and making sure that it is all rooted in joy.

It has caused me to learn how to redefine how I do life and business by developing processes that support both. Learning to carve out time to give me what I need first which I call my “me time” so that I’m fully equipped to give to who and what I need to throughout the day. This has shifted my mindset and how I approach the day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business has transitioned and has had it’s own evolution just like I have personally. I am a mom and an entrepreneur; but have been most affectionately coined “The Mompreneur” because I started and have owned a business for almost as long as my two boys, Alexander and Jackson, have been on this earth. My greatest triumphs and trials have come from both. I am a builder at heart which is why I started building my first business Completely Yours Events & Design almost 10 years ago after being downsized from corporate America from a career in Sales and Marketing. I have always been a fierce advocate for helping women build their business and build a community which I originally started with The Planners Suite where I assist event planners with building their business. I saw the need was much greater and wanted to reach more women who may be struggling with business, mommyhood, or just themselves and that is where The Eventful Life Enterprises was born. It has taken me to today years old to realize that as a mom, an entrepreneur, a wife, a mentor, a friend, a business coach, a daughter, and a creative that I AM ENOUGH. I can be all of these things and more if I am willing to throw away my self-limiting beliefs as well as other people’s rules and just do and be me!! My way; on my own time and my own terms. The journey hasn’t been easy but every bit of it is rewarding! I am on a mission to help you figure out how to do it on your own time and your own terms too.

Part of that mission lies in embracing that we need both personal and professional development in order to be our whole selves.

I am on a mission to help mompreneurs and women entrepreneurs reimagine how they can build their life or their business one experience at a time!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area it would totally be a curated “foodie and wine ” experience because I love good food especially southern inspired since I am a southern girl at heart and then I am indeed a woman who wines!!! Now I do like good music as well but the food and drinks have to be tight or it still ain’t right. Lol! Plus it’s what I do….I curate experiences.

We would go to this amazing southern inspired eatery called, Georgia Brown’s which has all the southern fares like grits and chicken and waffles, then we might hop over to Hot n Juicy crawfish cause I mean it’s crabs and crawfish so need I say more. Then we would have to head to the place that has the best view and the best cocktails in the whole city which is P.O.V. (Point of View). We of course would have to be dressed in our best brunch outfits and we’d have nothing but fun and all the joy! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shoutout the legacy of women who have come before me and blazed the path for me to step into who I am today. My grandmother, my great great aunt and my mother are all women who have come before me and set an example for showing me how to become a woman of dignity and grace as well as strength. They also each taught me how to be an entrepreneur and a woman in leadership as each of them walked along their own entrepreneurial journey I had the chance to see and learn from their successes, failures, challenges and triumphs. My desire is always to keep that legacy thriving with grace, honor, and respect.
