We had the good fortune of connecting with John Rocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Its simple. It’s being relatable to people and being for the people. Being one of the premier podcast for my hometown Mobile,Al the culture in the city is one that loves to uplift and bring people together from all shades of life. On the podcast we do the exact same. We have people on who do various things and that interest others to listen. That plus our personalities make us relatable to our listeners which bring us success genuinely and organically. That is what we live by here on off the rock.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up I’ve always have been seen as the social butterfly of my family. There is literally no where I can go where I do not know at least one person in the crowd or area I’m in. I’m just a person who thrives in networking and communication soo much I decided to create a podcast. It was a foundation that I built to have connection’s with extraordinary people and do it for a living. It’s my passion and I will never work a day in my life if I’m doing something I love every day. That’s just how I perceive it. Even though it is a passion and it’s comes naturally to me also, doesn’t mean it’s not a challenge at times. I’ve been dealt many challenges from, double booked events, the Arrival of Covid-19, and even loosing and gaining host and staff in this process. What gets me through is focusing on the why. The why I do this. The why people listen to us. So I’m transparent in my process. Which in return makes it relatable. People go through things and we all overcome one day at a time. I do this not just for me. I do this for everyone person who listens, who follows, who believes in me and the crew. That’s the “why” that keeps me going and overcoming any challenges that may arise.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Before we do anything we have to go Downtown Mobile to Bob’s Restaurant and get breakfast. They have a menu that’s all great and diverse that I’m sure they will have something that will have your mouth watering. Then we would have to head to the Mardi Gras Museum. With Mobile being the Birthplace of Mardi Gras, it’s a must see. That place has taught me soo much about the tradition but it also have many fun things to see and do there. After that we would head to Odailys Bar and get a 504 pizza. The drinks there are amazing and the 504 pizza has a Alabama staple “conecuh sausage ” with a combination of cheese, peppers and hot sauce drizzle. Then we would end the trip with. A drive to the gulf shores beach. We would be able to take a dive in to the gulf and even go by Hangout! Where many world renown artist have performed. They also have great food as well.
