Meet Johanna Zambrano Castillo | Real Estate Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna Zambrano Castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before moving to the United States, I was already very clear that I wanted to become a real estate agent. Helping people has always been my passion, and for over 20 years I worked in sales—both in products and services—with a strong belief that selling is ultimately about serving others.
Starting my business in real estate was a natural continuation of that same purpose. I’ve seen how many families, especially within the Latino community, hesitate to take the step toward homeownership—not because they don’t want to, but because they lack information, feel overwhelmed, or don’t have someone they trust to guide them. I want to be that person.
While I may be new to the real estate industry, I bring with me years of experience, empathy, and a deep commitment to guiding my clients step by step, answering their questions, and making sure they feel confident throughout the process.
This journey has come with its share of challenges, learning curves, and tough days—but also with clarity, growth, and the conviction that with consistency and dedication, I will establish myself as a trusted professional in my community and help many people achieve the dream of owning their home.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart as a professional is my empathy and my passion for helping people. I’ve spent nearly 20 years working in sales—not just offering products or services, but truly understanding what each client needs and how I can support them in the best way possible. Listening, stepping into someone else’s shoes, and creating personalized solutions has always been my greatest strength.
Today, I’m building my career in real estate. While I may be new to the industry, I came into it with a clear vision: to continue helping people—this time, during one of the most important decisions of their lives, buying or selling a home. It hasn’t been easy. Starting over in a new country, adapting to a new market, training myself, and building a strong team has been challenging. But it has absolutely been worth it.
The journey has come with its fair share of challenges. Technology evolves, people change, and communication keeps shifting. All of this has required me to keep learning and growing. One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned along the way is that consistency, discipline, and perseverance always lead to results. Nothing happens overnight, but when you work with heart and commitment, the outcome will always follow.
I want the world to know that I’m a hardworking, independent, and disciplined woman who has built her life step by step. My brand is more than just real estate—it represents a human connection, honest guidance, and true dedication to the people I serve. I may not be the only realtor in the market, but I can promise that with me, you will have someone who listens to you, who understands your situation, and who will always look for the best solution with integrity and care.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: A Warm Welcome
I’d pick her up at the airport with a big smile, some Latin music playing in the car, and good vibes all around. We’d spend the first day catching up: cooking a nice dinner at home, playing music, and sitting down for a long chat—just like we say, “to spill the tea,” laugh, and update each other on everything happening in our lives.
Day 2: Exploring the Heart of Atlanta
We’d visit the famous Georgia Aquarium, one of the largest and most beautiful in the world. Then, we could walk around the Olympic Park and check out the World of Coca-Cola Museum, which is fun and interesting. For dinner, something casual like Taco Mac or Chili’s, places where we can eat well, relax, and enjoy good conversation without fuss.
Day 3: Relaxing at Home and Neighborhood Walk
After so much walking the day before, we’d take it easy: stroll around the neighborhood, grab a coffee, cook something delicious at home, and maybe watch a movie or have a little home spa night. These simple moments are what you really treasure with a close friend.
Day 4: Nature and Adventure
We’d spend the day at Stone Mountain Park, a perfect spot for hiking, climbing the mountain, and enjoying fresh air and beautiful views. We’d pack a light picnic and take lots of photos. In the evening, maybe order from Longhorn Steakhouse to recharge.
Day 5: Gardens and Good Food
We’d visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which is stunning and peaceful. After that, a walk through Piedmont Park. Later, we’d go for a meal at a place we both like—maybe even revisit a favorite restaurant if we find one we love.
Day 6: Shopping and Relaxation
We’d go to Atlantic Station or Lenox Square for some shopping, window shopping, or just wandering around. Maybe grab a coffee and take a little break. That night, we’d prepare a special dinner at home with some wine, music, and one of those heart-to-heart talks that stay with you.
Day 7: A Grateful Goodbye
A quiet breakfast, maybe a light walk or short outing, then I’d take her to the airport, thankful for the visit and happy to have shared moments that strengthen our friendship even more.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, the first recognition goes to my family. They have always believed in me, supported me unconditionally, and respected every decision I’ve made. Even during the most uncertain times, they’ve encouraged me to follow my dreams. Their support has been essential in giving me the strength to start over in a new country and build my own path.
I also strongly believe in the importance of having mentors throughout life—people who, even if they don’t know you personally, inspire you, guide you, and push you to grow. In my case, I’ve followed the work of Margarita Pasos closely; she has taught me so much about personal growth and mindset. In the real estate world, I truly admire Marta Marcilla—not only for her experience, but for the way she communicates, provides value, and connects with people.
In the sales field, Alex Dey has helped strengthen my skills and confidence, while Coral Mujaes has inspired me to trust myself and embrace my entrepreneurial spirit.
Thanks to them—and many other voices I’ve chosen to learn from—I’ve understood that growth comes from training your mind, constantly improving, and surrounding yourself with positive energy. That’s exactly what I’ve been committed to: becoming a better professional, but also a better human being every day.
