We had the good fortune of connecting with Joey Organa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, I do film makeup, so when the studios and sets shut down, the thought process was “Okay, how can I make some extra cash?” And so we started making and selling lip gloss and lashes, and it just snowballed into what it is today. I think the pandemic really pushed a lot of people to figure out how to turn their hobbies or little creative ideas into a source of income, and for a lot of people, it worked, and now it’s become full time. I saw a lot of businesses open up around that time, and a very good bit of them are still going strong, and I absolutely live for it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m honestly not sure how this thing happened, haha. One minute we’re filling lip gloss tubes and the next we’re releasing palettes and lipsticks left and right. I will say, it wasn’t easy. At all. When you own a brand it really all comes down to “how annoyed is your timeline from seeing your 20 posts about your business?”
I’ve definitely learned how to TAKE MY TIME!
I used to rush through things so fast, and it would end up causing me so many issues.
I just want people to know that no matter how big, dreams are always obtainable, and you should never give up on them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As cliche as it sounds, L5P is my absolute favorite place in this entire world. Definitely a muse experience location
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This company, of course, would be nothing without the awesome customers we have. We love seeing all of the looks and support, it’s honestly what keeps us going.
