We had the good fortune of connecting with Jitinder Chhokar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jitinder, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my determination. Without my determination, I couldn’t have done anything. My goal is to take my business to the next level which is to introduce new ice creams flavors. It is important to have the drive and motivation because that’s what helps me to deal with extremely long days with no breaks and no days off. Another factor that’s helping me be successful is I look at challenges as learning experiences rather than obstacles. These learning experiences are helping me think outside the box which is helping me grow my business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Unlike other ice cream shops, we create rolled ice cream and use fresh ingredients that I make daily. We also like to have inclusivity, such as including those who have allergies. Going along this topic, I am excited to introduce new ice cream flavors… I have created two new ones so far. I am also excited to include other cultures in my ice cream. A lesson that I learned along the way is that every day will be different. Again, a challenge to me is a learning experience. I want the world to know that I am determined. Determination goes a long way in creating an unique business. As long as you have support and you never give up, anything is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take her to the picnic area and have a nice outdoor picnic. The lively music and kind people are a definite must. While we are in the area, I would take her to my shop, (Where’s the Scoop), where we would enjoy some delicious bubble tea and sweet rolled ice cream. Overall, we would walk around the area and enjoy the fantastic scenery and atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my husband for believing in me. I would also like to thank my three kids and my WTS employees for working so hard and making this business possible. “It takes a village to run a successful business!” I am very grateful to everyone for their support and love.
