We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmie Stephens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted the freedom to live. I believe life is about experience and limitless exploration of what you believe God has place inside of you to do. Most Jobs require permission and it limits you your time to explore and experience the gift of time. Having something that I can give, i.e my knowledge and experience to impact someone else, gives me fulfillment and allows me the opportunity grow my gift into a business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a relationship coach, helping couple in the the area of communication, building love, value and respect. I have a background in ministry, for the past 20 plus years I have been serving people helping them experience life in a better more fulfilled way.

I however found myself helping couples in these areas because I struggled with them in my marriage. I have been married going on 25 years. The struggle that I faced in my relationship was caused by not having the knowledge and skills to communicate. I was unaware of the necessity to have a level of emotional intelligence in my relationship. I have always communicated from an emotional position… If I was angry I would yell and react which would effect my wife in a negative way. Over the years I noticed her behavior.. she was not a talkative or engaging as before. This made me reflect, ask her questions, listen to her experience with my behavior and begin working on myself.. This is what sparked what is now a service that helps hundreds of couples a year throughout the U.S. So it was very challenging at the beginning, now I can see the value of what I went through. The work and practical solutions that I found for myself, I share with others. That makes my brand and story different, I spent years on developing and reflecting on myself, so when I talk to couples they realize I am in the same fight they are in.

What separates my brand and service from other coaching services is that we have programs that focus’s on making your relationship better. We have a 90 day.., turn around program. Which consist of 15 group communication intensives and 6 individual coaching sessions over 3 months. We also have a 6 month and 12 months allow of these sessions create the consistency as well as practical exercises that get the results couples are looking for.

The business aspect of what I do is a constant learning process. Creating offers that will serve couples as well as allow me to be effective at what I do. This means pricing my services and programs that will make a big impact in a couples life as well as allow me to live a good life, meaning not struggle financially. We have information and training at various price levels from free ebooks, to paid books to programs that can be purchase as well as solution oriented programs that I mentioned before.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to a Braves Baseball game, have lunch at the ballpark.

The next day have breakfast at the Corner Grill in College Park

Bike ride in Piedmont Park

Dinner at Pappadeaux
