Meet Jill Volpe: Board Certified Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Volpe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of conventional advice that I disagree with is the level of importance placed on finding your purpose in life. Honestly, I find it all a little over-rated. Finding your purpose often implies that there is only one thing you’re destined for and if you find that one thing then you will be happy. I believe there are two things wrong about this belief. 1, you won’t know your purpose if you aren’t already happy because you won’t be open enough to spot the opportunities, receive the knowledge, or connect more meaningfully with others. 2. In our multi-faceted lives, how can it be true that we only have one purpose? Don’t we have purpose in each area of our life? We have purpose in each of our relationships, we have purpose in our careers, perhaps we have purpose through our interests and activities. The reason why people feel stuck and without purpose is because their needs are not being met or fulfilled at that deeper level. So before you find your purpose, answer these questions for yourself and get real specific: What does happiness look like to me and how can I bring more of that into my life? When you’re truly happy and begin to really show up in your life, you won’t be worrying about finding your purpose. Instead, you’re purpose will find you.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Board Certified Life Coach and Reiki Master Teacher. I’ve been in holistic health and wellness for nearly twenty years. In the early days of my career, I was in the corporate world and even earned my Master’s in Business (MBA). Several years later, I was introduced to Reiki and energy healing by a dear friend who would often practice it on me. I fell in love with Reiki and the gentleness of it. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. And the magic of it, so to speak, I never questioned. I studied it myself and earned my Master/Teacher certification so I could offer healing sessions and teach others. After marrying my husband of 18 years, relocating two more times, having two incredible boys, I felt called to expand my practitioner skills and services but really had no idea what I wanted to do. I began researching complementary areas of study and came across coaching. It just felt right to me. It was the missing piece to my healing practice. I work with women who are worn out, overwhelmed, short on time and who have come to realize that they don’t want to live this way anymore. They’re ready to make changes but don’t know how and/or they don’t have the direction or support they need to get to where they want to go. As a board certified coach, I provide both support and direction but differently than you might think. I will never tell you what is right or wrong for you and I will never tell you what to do. Instead, I will actively listen, ask meaningful questions that guide you toward a deeper understand of yourself and I will educate you by sharing universal principles and a positive, perhaps healthier perspective. I will also motivate you through accountability and small actions and I’ll be the first one to jump up and celebrate your “a-ha” moments and accomplishments. I love what I do and there’s nothing like watching someone blossom before your eyes!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is hard for me to answer. I have only lived in the area for five years and the last one was during a global pandemic! I also live in the northern suburbs so don’t really know the city very well. Looking forward to changing that though! Hopefully, very soon.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Patrick, who loves, supports, and celebrates all my tiny wins.
