We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Fuentes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

I approach risk-taking with an open mind. Risks are necessary to elevate your career to the next level. The biggest obstacle to overcome when taking risks is internalizing our negative thoughts instead of amplifying our positive ones.

I took the most significant risk in my career during The Great Resignation (or Great Reshuffle) of 2020. I left a company I’d worked for since 2014 to build my company, The Six Figure Career Club.

The Six Figure Career Club is a place to help career changers continue to advance their skills to land 6-figure roles. No longer are professionals staying in one job for 20+ years and attaining their career pursuits.

I was miserable in my career, and the pandemic changed how my organization functioned. I worked as an I.T. Sales Consultant, and I had burnt out. I had to take the first step in my career to be authentic in my career moves to be effective in helping other career changers.

I’m glad I followed my intuition. Since taking the risk and jumping into entrepreneurship (while still freelancing as a Project Manager), I’ve helped position 200+ professionals and 2 organizations make bold career moves.

What should our readers know about your business?

The Six Figure Career Club is a full-stop Career Services & Professional Development company. In March 2022, we are launching DIY e-Courses to help educate 9-5 professionals on how to take control of their careers. After taking these step-by-step e-courses, professionals will have completed products. We are launching a range of courses, including Resume Writing, LinkedIn Optimization, Cover Letters, Interview Prep, and more!

We also provide outplacement services for companies who need help transitioning employees. When a company and employee have to separate, it is difficult for both parties, and our goal is to help facilitate that transition. We partner with companies and employees to provide transition services, including Career Coaching, Resume Writing, Job Search Strategy Sessions, Employee Analytics, and more!

We support career changers from figuring out what’s next in your career to creating your career documents. The Six Figure Career Club is here to help.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

If you are coming to Atlanta for a long weekend, you’ve got to check out the latest exhibit at the High Museum on Friday night. You can get lost for hours. But before you go to the museum, check out R.A. Sushi (for dinner) or Cafe Intermezzo (for breakfast). I would stay at the Mariott or Sheraton downtown. If it’s the summer, check out the latest acts or festivals in town.

I try to eat plant-based, but there are a few of my favorite spots in Atlanta:

Tassili’s Raw Reality

Raw is Life (Only Available via Delivery for now)

Birria ATL

Bar Taco

Over the weekend, check out Atlanta attractions: Zoo Atlanta, Coca-Cola Factory & Georgia Aquarium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out to Werk University. The Founder, Koereyelle, has provided and continues to offer me the tools and resources necessary to challenge myself and enhance my business. I am appreciative she exposed me to so many opportunities as an entrepreneur. I understood to grow my business. I had to put in the Werk!
