Meet Jesss Johnson: Real Estate photography

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesss Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesss, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We try to separate personal from business. We are professional, take a very friendly approach to our clients, but do what we need to keep our brand, stay professional, and be consistent. Being consistent is super important in being successful. Our clients expect a routine, and skewing away from this can create conflict, restrictions, and trust issues. So we are always trying to make sure our clients get the product they pay for, and right every single time. Our brand is important to us. We also stay competitive in our product, keep up to date on the latest trends of products, so as to not age out of the business, and are consistently looking for ways to be the company that clients choose over the competition.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to real estate photography, we have spent countless hours perfecting our style and look. We have a very bright and clean look to our images. We get real estate agents all the time asking “Can you make our images lighter? The room is so dark!” We shoot with a 5 image HDR process. 5 images ranging from very blown out and white, to so dark you can barely make out details. We then take all 5 images and combine them to create a composite that helps create both nice highlights and shadows in each image. Over the years, we have had some trial and error, and perfected our style, based on our clients needs and suggestions. We are always learning, and coming up with new ways to create, tweaking a little here, adjusting a little there. And we love how our clients are always growing with us along the way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had to say a favorite spot, I am not sure it would be just one spot. One of the things I LOVE about Georgia, is our abundant supply of mountains, rivers and lakes! Stone Mountain is always. so amazing to get to the top and just take in the clean cool air. I also love a day on the lake. It helps bring me back to center. Once or twice a year, I need a really big refresh on a beach. We usually retreat to Florida, Savannah, or just the nearest beach/ocean we can get to for a quick weekend getaway.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to say, a book that I read (Or a series) was the Badass books, by Jen Sincero. I read the “You are a badass” and then “You are a badass at making money” This led me to realize, fear drives failure. And in order to succeed, you have to learn to let go of the fear. When you allow your mind to let go of the fear, as an entrepreneur, that can be quite difficult, you will realize, that with hard work, and a success driven mindset, fear does not stand a chance, and you can manifest anything into your life. If you want it enough, you can create it. This has led me to be successful in my company. In less than 3 years, I have created a 6 figure business, and brought another photographer into the business, full time, my fiance, Chris. Chris has been an amazing part of the support I have received during this journey. He and I area continuing, daily, to create growth within the company, and next year, for 2021, plan to expand with more team members. It’s been a great ride so far, and we are looking forward to exponential growth in the coming yearss.
