We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was raised in an environment that taught me the importance of embracing others and having people matter from an early age. I learned how to listen and deliver on what mattered to others in an effort to help them accomplish what they wanted. Being able to listen, having people matter and delivering on what matters to others has been the catalyst behind my success. Seeing my coaching and consulting clients be able to see their results and become more profitable brings joy to my heart.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JLS Vision Services is a hybrid coaching and consulting agency. What sets my agency apart from others is that I firmly believe in helping others grow personally and professionally. I am highly educated and trained professionally to listen for what has and hasn’t been said. After listening, I am able to then ask the questions that help my clients discover what’s missing.

I got to where I am today by embracing my various challenges, upbringing, education and work experiences. Embracing everything wasn’t always easy to do-especially in my teen years. However, as I matured and became more knowledgeable, I started to actually pay more attention to what I had learned about businesses and human beings through school courses and real life interactions. Eventually, I was able to realize that everything I had gone through was actually a blessing in disguise.

JLS Vision Services uses a proven and tailor made 7 basic business principles model that I’ve been using with my clients for years. My upbringing prepared me to be able to lean on certain experiences when needed. Everything I’ve personally gone through and learned along the way helped me with creating the model that gets my clients their results.

My successfully proven model has since been turned into a copy written course to assist even more businesses. My course was designed by me as a creative way to pivot and use my time wisely while quarantined like the rest of the world last year. It was also designed to be completed in a shorter amount of time and be more cost friendly for some. The course helps everyone from aspiring entrepreneurs to team members get more streamlined in an effort to help them amplify results and become more profitable.

It is based on the knowledge I’ve discovered through my personal experiences, the professional trainings I’ve had to take part in, and the research I’ve personally done over the past 30 years. The model and course is designed to add value to any brand by helping brands become more streamlined, amplify results and become more profitable.

Knowing that my empowering ways, ideas and contributions help others accomplish their goals is what truly makes me happy and proud of what I do. I realized this after helping to build a 9 figure private wealth advisory practice in 10 years. Once I realized that, I created JLS Vision Services. I ended up choosing to not become a partner of the practice I had helped build and was with for over 13 years. Eventually, I ended my career as a financial advisor and office manager in the private wealth advisory practice. I wanted to solely focus on building a sustainable hybrid coaching and consulting agency.

Since leaving the private wealth industry, I have successfully provided my coaching and consulting services to various business owners and their staff. My clients have ranged from other private wealth financial advisory practice owners, well known entertainment company owners, and everyone in between. The one thing that they all have in common is that I’ve helped them to either become more streamlined, amplify their results and/or become more profitable.

I am also a former Forbes Coaches Council Member. I have written articles and contributed to articles as an expert panelist about business that have been published on forbes.com. I was also chosen as 1 of 6 entrepreneurs to represent entrepreneurship in the City of Atlanta by Go Daddy as part of a series they were doing before COVID shut the world down.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start with driving around Buckhead just to show them the area first thing in the morning. Once finished, we would go enjoy our scheduled spa day which includes our manicures, pedicures, massages and facials at ManCave Atlanta. After that, we would go grab a bite to eat and a drink on the outdoor balcony of Waldorf Astoria’s restaurant, Del Frisco’s Grille, and see where the remainder of the day takes us.

We would start the next day off by walking around Atlantic Station and going into the various stores there including Target for any toiletries or snacks that they needed while here. We would also more than likely grab a bite to eat and drink at Hobnob’s rooftop patio while taking part in the Atlantic Green Events at some point during our time in Atlantic Station as well.

Some of the other fun and exciting places that we’d make sure to visit during their stay are: Ponce City Market, The Beltline, Buckhead Village District and Stone Mountain Park. I’d definitely do my best to make sure that we ate at Tacos & Tequila, Pappadeaux and Gustos while they were here too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
